Vision from Mt Buller 31 May 2017 |
Mt Buller will be the first Victorian resort to have guests skiing and boarding with this surprise opening – and the first night skiing for the country for 2017.
Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied said, "We've invested in new stadium-style lighting on Bourke Street that turns night into day and this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the early snow and get out for a Friday night slide. Everyone is excited to get on the snow as soon as possible so we're inviting everyone up for a free night ski this Friday 2 June."
Bourke Street will stay open for skiing into the weekend and next week with the Blue Bullet lift in operation from 9am - 5pm daily.
Beginner "Discover" lessons will commence at the Ski & Snowboard School from Saturday.
The last time Mt Buller opened early was in 2012 which turned into a bumper season so hopes are high for the winter ahead.
