Sydney’s famous Oxford Street precinct will become a colourful cultural playground when Art & About Sydney 2026 takes place from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October. Presented by the City of Sydney, the three-day program brings art, performance, dance, theatre, installations and community participation together across Oxford Street, Taylor Square and Darlinghurst.

Designed as a walkable cultural experience, Art & About Sydney invites visitors to discover creative works and performances within a compact precinct, with many activities completely free to attend. The 2026 program continues the event’s focus on temporarily reimagining Sydney’s public spaces through art and creativity.

A Disco Opening Night on Oxford Street

Art & About Sydney opens on Friday 23 October with a five-hour disco-themed celebration from 5pm to 10pm. The Progress Pride Crossing will become an outdoor dancefloor featuring DJs, live performances, drag artists, roving entertainment and interactive dance workshops.

The opening night program includes a waacking showcase by Dancekool, the Disco Never Dies workshop, live disco performances from Kaleidoscope Dreams and DJs including DJ Sheeba, DJ Adam Thomas and Aunty Johnny. Visitors can also encounter roller skaters, illuminated performers, giant bubbles and interactive activities.

Local businesses will also participate with special offers, outdoor dining and pop-up activations, adding to the atmosphere across Oxford Street and Taylor Square.

The finalists for The Bizzies Awards 2026 have been announced, recognising excellence, innovation and leadership across New Zealand’s business events industry.

Now in its second year, The Bizzies Awards celebrate the people, organisations and initiatives delivering outstanding outcomes across Aotearoa New Zealand’s business events sector.

The finalists were announced on 16 September 2026, with the winners to be revealed at a gala awards evening at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre on Wednesday 28 October 2026.

The Bizzies Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the individuals and organisations contributing to the strength and success of New Zealand’s business events sector.

The awards recognise the work involved in creating memorable business events and delivering successful experiences for clients, delegates and communities throughout New Zealand.

Entries for The Bizzies Awards 2026 were assessed by an independent judging panel representing different areas of the business events industry.

The judges were drawn from venues, destinations, event organisers and suppliers, providing broad industry experience across the judging process.

The awards highlight the importance of collaboration and innovation within New Zealand’s business events sector, while providing an opportunity to share the stories behind successful events and initiatives.

Winners to Be Announced in Christchurch

The Bizzies Awards 2026 winners will be announced during the awards gala dinner at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre on Wednesday 28 October 2026.

Alana Bicknell, Co-Chair of The Bizzies, said the calibre of this year’s entries demonstrates the talent and excellence found throughout Aotearoa New Zealand’s business events industry.

The awards evening will bring finalists and industry representatives together to celebrate the achievements of the sector during 2026.

Individual tickets and tables of 10 are available for the gala dinner, making the event an opportunity for business events professionals to connect while celebrating the year's achievements.

The Beyond Borders Travel Summit will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 9 October 2026, bringing together travel industry leaders ahead of the National Travel Industry Awards on 10 October.

ACCC Executive Director, Airports and Aviation David Cranston and Director, Competition Exemptions Anthony Hilton will provide an industry briefing on developments across Australia’s domestic and international aviation markets, followed by a fireside conversation with Australian Travel Industry Association Chief Executive Officer Dean Long.
