Truly Out-Of-The-Ordinary : 'The View' Villa at Senses Yao Noi

The View, Six Senses Yao Noi
The View, Six Senses Yao Noi's premium one-bedroom villa is the ultimate romantic escape in nature's playground for newlyweds, honeymooners and couples celebrating special occasions.

Synonymous with its name, The View offers a breathtaking 180-degree panoramic view of the iconic limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay, best admired with a loved one while lounging on the netted hammock with a cocktail in hand.

A romantic abode of exclusivity and comfort, this premium villa is a converted space; an apt re-design from its previous designation as a wedding chapel venue by the creative team from Six Senses.

The ultra-spacious 225 square-meter villa features a large infinity-edge pool with a bar counter for poolside drinks, a romantic sunken dining area on its terrace, a mezzanine floor for elevated views, a private mini cinema and a personal fitness studio, amongst its many highlights.

Every guest who steps through its doors is greeted by the pure, natural luxury of Siamese sal hardwood interiors with a contemporary twist. A winding staircase leads up to a mezzanine space for an elevated point-of-view and its double-height vaulted ceiling frames multiple picture windows with views of the ocean and lush tropical landscape which change colors in tandem with the different hues of the sky throughout the day.

The senses are further heightened by a waterfall flowing under the glass floor beneath the king-sized bed, connecting guests with the wonders of their surroundings through a visual play of sights and sounds.

Although a full range of facilities is available in the resort, guests who check-in to The View may find few reasons to venture beyond the privacy of the villa. Sunrises are spectacular, a personal Guest Experience Maker (GEM) is present to tailor the guests' journey throughout their stay, afternoon amenities and non-alcoholic beverages are replenished daily, and BBQ dinners served by a private chef at the sunken dining area start with pre-dinner drinks which mirror the soft-hued reflections at sunset.

“From the outset, we had the intention of creating the region's ultimate one-bedroom villa experience. This villa has always been called 'The View' for a good reason; it offers the most exceptional panoramic viewpoints of Phang Nga Bay, making it the perfect romantic setting for couples to enjoy each other's company as the surrounding landscape will captivate you,” says Graham Grant, regional general manager of Six Senses resorts in Southeast Asia.

He adds, “The views are breathtaking from every point in the villa. We have integrated multiple sensory elements, and the most exciting part is creating a journey that will engage in moments of relaxation, fun, and surprise. We truly see this as a place to reconnect and be inspired.”

Designed with sustainability and wellness in mind, The View is the ultimate one-bedroom villa in the region providing the perfect backdrop to an out-of-the-ordinary private escape for two.

Six Senses Kyoto Debuts in Japan, Taking Guests on a Sensory Journey of Reconnection

Six Senses Kyoto
Six Senses Kyoto
opened its doors on April 23, marking the brand's entry into Japan and an exciting new addition to its flourishing urban collection. Conveniently situated among the iconic heritage shrines and palaces within the ancient capital, Six Senses Kyoto invites guests to both an epicenter and an escape, to enjoy holistic wellness, signature sustainability and out-of-the-ordinary experiences.

Six Senses Kyoto marks a historic milestone of taking the Six Senses brand into new frontiers, while continuing to enrich IHG's luxury and lifestyle portfolio - now the second largest in the world.

A Tribute to Kyoto's Golden Age

The hotel's design draws inspiration from the Heian period (794-1185), when Heian-kyo (now Kyoto) was the capital of Japan, considered by many the golden age of art and culture that gave birth to "Miyabi" (courtly elegance) concept. This heritage is reflected in the hotel's modern interpretation, incorporating elements of traditional arts to create a unique and elegant ambiance. The lobby artwork sets the tone with a folding screen featuring 504 hand-crafted Kyoto-made Rakuyaki tiles. These symbolize the silhouette of the sacred Mount Kurama, one of the legendary settings of the Tale of Genji and the birthplace of Reiki healing. Opposite the folding screen is a whimsical art piece which is a modern take on "Chōjū-giga" (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals), believed to be the very first manga (Japanese graphic novels) in the nation's history.

The contrasting artwork sets the stage for the hotel's blend of history, artistry, playfulness and emotional hospitality. The hotel's biophilic design, evident in the usage of wood and natural materials, along with meandering paths through inner Japanese gardens, further connects guests with nature.

Sanctuary of Tranquility and Rejuvenation

The design narrative extends to the 81 guest rooms and suites, offering a sanctuary for contemplation. Specialty suites, from the Premier Suite Garden with a private Japanese courtyard to the 238 square-meter Three Bedroom Penthouse Suite, offer extended space for reconnection.

Six Senses Kyoto
All bedrooms feature Sleep With Six Senses, promoting peaceful slumber through bespoke organic mattresses, temperature regulating pillows, duvets, and organic cotton sheets. For those seeking to further optimize their zzz, sleep aids and programs are also available, through personalized sleep consultation that integrates insights from guests' sleep tracker combined with soothing treatments, nutritional guidance, and low intensity training.

Holistic Wellness Journey: Fusion of Tradition and Science

Inspired by Kyoto's Zen philosophy, Six Senses Spa integrates traditional healing techniques with modern science. Guests can begin their journey with a signature Wellness Screening, which analyzes key health biomarkers in minutes, allowing Wellness Practitioners to make personalized recommendations tailored to individual needs and goals.

Highlights include the Kyoto-exclusive Ah-un treatment, which symbolizes the pursuit of inner peace, balance, and awakening in Zen through a series of rituals and harmonizing body and sound therapies. Watsu (aquatic bodywork) relieves any tension of the body and the mind through hydrotherapeutic moves and stretches in the city's only dedicated pool for the treatment.

Those looking for smart solutions to aid recovery from their travels, the adjacent Biohack Recovery Lounge is equipped with state-of-the-art recovery devices such as compression therapy.

Six Senses Spa Kyoto also offers integrated wellness programs ranging from a half-day to six days for both hotel guests and external visitors, with a focus on Sleep, Detox, Yoga, and Fitness.

Culinary Journey Through Japan's 24 Seasons

Guided by the Eat With Six Senses ethos, the hotel's food and beverage offering take guests on a journey through the ancient Japanese calendar. Sekki, the all-day dining restaurant, features hyper-seasonal weekly menus and drinks inspired by Japan's 24 solar terms. Executive Chef Hiroki Shishikura's close relationships with local farmers and producers ensure first-hand access to seasonal produce. The menu highlights a veg-forward lineup celebrating artisanal local and sustainable ingredients, complemented by a carefully sourced meat and seafood selection. The nose-to-tail and root-to-stem cooking principles ensure all menus are as flavorful as they are sustainable.

Six Senses Kyoto
As Chef Hiroki explains, “Seasonality is a key concept in our culture that we celebrate through traditional events, nature, and food. We show appreciation for what nature gives us and, as an island country, we are blessed with an abundance of produce throughout the year. We incorporate this concept into our menu by working with local producers and artisans to provide ultra-seasonal produce that varies week-by-week. So, every time you visit Sekki, there's always a moment of discovery and surprise in the dining experience.”

The hotel's inauguration aligns with Japan's 'Grain Rain' solar season, marking the shift from spring to summer, observable through the gentle transition from delicate leafy greens and mountain vegetables to vibrant, robust and hearty produce such as summer strawberries.

The adjacent Café Sekki boasts a selection of fresh brews, craft teas, homemade kombucha, healthy juices, and guilt-free sweets and pastries using only natural ingredients and traditional fermentation techniques. Nine Tails, the speakeasy cocktail bar, offers evocative spirited creations alongside thoughtfully designed non-alcoholic options crafted from artisanal condiments and homemade syrup and cordials.

Sustainability and the Community

Sustainability remains the core of the hotel's values and operations and is clear from the eco-centric design and construction to operational practices and local contributions. Guests can join a sustainability tour, explore interactive workshops at the Earth Lab, or create natural body products at the Alchemy Bar, all designed to foster a deeper understanding and connection with local culture and sustainable practices.

The dedicated Sustainability Fund supported by 0.5 percent of the hotel's revenue is in place that will support locally based organizations, Biotope Network Kyoto and Council for Kyoto Traditional Forest Culture, in regenerating, conserving, and educating younger generations on forestry revitalization and its cultural value.

Now in Kyoto

Celebrating the brand's entry and first urban hotel in Japan, the hotel is offering a limited-time opening offer Now in Kyoto to help guests find their inner sanctuary, with savings on accommodation, including breakfast and hotel credits applicable to hotel dining and signature spa treatments. Rates starting from USD 1,002 per room per night, available to book through sixsenses.com/kyoto.

Guests are welcome to explore IHG One Rewards, one of world's largest loyalty programs, for the next getaway in Kyoto while earning points with every stay and a range of points redemption offerings.

Plunge into Portugal with new Pool Villas, Valley Rooms and Suites at Six Senses Douro Valley

For many decades, when thinking about spending relaxed time with family or friends, the question was, “where do we find a resort that looks and feels like a home, and a home that has the looks and amenities of a resort?” With this in mind, Six Senses Douro Valley brings larger groups a choice of out-of-the-ordinary villas with connected rooms, generous outdoor space, and features to make it a home away from home.

Available to book now for stays from this July, guests will be able to book a One Bedroom Pool Villa or Two Bedroom Pool Villa, both with private pools and vineyard views, or choose from nine separate Valley Rooms and Suites, which may be reserved individually or together to offer up to nine bedrooms.

Valley Rooms and Suites
The property's original wine lodge is situated on the other side of the organic kitchen garden. This has been restored and converted into nine separate ensuite Valley Rooms and Suites. There is a large and spacious lounge area with a magnificent fireplace as the central element. It provides the perfect place for hosting convivial moments throughout the day, starting with a continental breakfast and coffee to greet sleepy heads before the morning activities get underway. Guests can also enjoy a homemade farmhouse breakfast in the Open Kitchen. All through the day, the lounge is a natural gathering space for a glass of wine from the Enomatic wine fridge, and a bartender is on hand to prepare colorful cocktails at sundown.

In addition to the two Superior Rooms, each with a private terrace, and the Premier Room with its own private terrace and vitality pool, there are five Valley Suites, some with a terrace or balcony and one with a fully equipped kitchen.

The pick of the bunch, the Valley Master Suite, offers its own spacious dining/living area with an open fireplace, bathroom with infrared sauna and bathtub, and floor-to-ceiling windows, which lead the eye across the shared gardens and pool area. The gardens are spread across different levels and are cleverly integrated into the valley at the foot of the gently terraced vineyard to offer uninterrupted views of the horizon. There are several lounge areas with different aspects to provide shade and sun, stepping down to a lawn on the ground level and a shared swimming pool (14 by 4 meters) equipped with a counter-current machine. There is also a garden bar, an oversized vitality pool, a fire pit, and a fragrant organic garden. Two gazebos, located on each side of the pool, are the perfect location to lie in the shade during the hot summer days.

Pool Villas
The One Bedroom and Two Bedroom Pool Villas feature locally inspired architecture and furnishings, enhanced with modern comforts and amenities. Each has a fully appointed kitchen, separate dining and living areas, fireplace, and wine fridge. Outside, there is a separate entrance, a heated pool with a counter-current swimming machine, a small lawn area with fragrant shrubs, a private sundeck with day beds, and a gazebo. Anytime is the perfect time for an intimate dinner prepared by the chef to enjoy in the cozy dining area or outside in the garden.

Everything that could be expected from a Six Senses stay is included, such as priority in-room service and a dedicated GEM (Guest Experience Maker), to ensure everyone enjoys precious time all together and equally valuable moments spent alone.

Six Senses Brings Families into Focus - New kids club in Vietnam; Junior Eco Warrior programs in The Maldives + Thailand: larger accomm launched in Ibiza, Portugal, and Oman

Adventure Park at Vooc Village, the new kids’
club at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam
A family vacation is a great way to push the reset button away from the everyday “time to get up, go to bed” routine, to share new experiences and rebalance what’s important, or not, once home. Many of the families who visit Six Senses are well-travelled, with the children craving as much variety and adventure as the parents. That’s why every detail is carefully considered – from facilities to programming and extra space.

NEW - Vooc Village and Water Reserve at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
Adventure Park at Vooc Village, is the new kids’ club at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam. Named after the Vietnamese langur and resort mascot, the Vooc Village keeps its younger guests entertained, whether hanging upside down at the jungle gym, splashing around in the aqua gym, or enjoying games or craft-making in the indoor play center.

Programs encompass everything from the active (organic gardening, yoga, little mixologist, being a therapist, junior photographer) to the relaxing (foot massage, herbal ball compress, make your own body scrub), and the creative with a local twist (traditional Vietnamese origami and snacks, Hoi An lantern making and trying to play traditional Vietnamese musical instruments). Never too young to inspire a passion for protecting nature, children can build their own coral reef, be a farmer, make beeswax wraps and homemade soaps, join an essential oil workshop, and learn about langurs (local monkeys) with the resident biologist.

While journeying through each activity, children will receive a new stamp for their passport, which they receive on arrival, with a final surprise for when they collect enough stamps.

“The special Grow With Six Senses passport combines exploration, conservation, crafts, and sport into a fun and educational schedule that takes children to all corners of the resort; it’s the kind of program that makes you want to be a kid again. Sadly, parents cannot apply!” says General Manager Andrew Whiffen. “Vooc Village is the first of its kind in Vietnam, and our aim is to keep the kids off their screens and entertained in a more traditional way. It’s also a great way to give parents a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy other activities at the resort.”

The Water Reserve at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam
Sleeping nine guests, the three-bedroom Water Reserve – comprising three free-standing pavilions – is set on dramatic rock formations right on the water’s edge of a private bay, with spectacular and uninterrupted sunset views. Completely secluded, the villa can be accessed by a private speedboat or walkway. An infinity-edge pool with a water slide also blends naturally with the horizon and surrounding boulders. A dedicated GEM (Guest Experience Maker) can arrange in-villa dining and spa treatments, private yoga sessions, a poolside barbecue, outdoor cinema screening, or schedule the day’s activities including snorkeling on the house reef.

Watery Delights at Six Senses Laamu
They say you can dust the sand off toes but not souls. Just some of the on-land activities at The Den include planting seeds in coconut shells, a fitness scavenger hunt, junior Zumba, healthy cookie making, face mask workshops, and a volcano explosion. Due to the location of this family-friendly resort on a private atoll, the real magic happens in the water. Budding conservationists aged six and up can complete exciting science experiments, explore the ocean in snorkeling adventures, and learn to make their own conservation videos as part of the Junior Marine Biology program.

The Family Villa offers beachfront living, with a panoramic upper deck, a personal pool, and an outdoor bathtub for fun bath times. There’s even a treetop deck offering comfortable seating, a dining area, and front row seats to keep an eye on any passing marine life too.

Wellies On and Capes Ready at Six Senses Yao Noi
Following themes of Farm, Nature and Re-creation, the three-day Junior Eco Warrior program at Six Senses Yao Noi aims to educate future changemakers through hands-on experiences and outdoor adventures. Children can collect fresh eggs, meet Kevin the goat, spend time sowing seeds, and head to the beach to learn the importance of keeping marine ecosystems clean. They can also have fun turning trash into treasure in a 3Rs Workshop and try their hand at building villas for the resort’s resident hornbills out of recycled timber.

With views overlooking the iconic limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay, the three-bedroom Ocean Retreat has the option of a connecting one-bedroom Ocean Deluxe Pool Villa.

Larger Accommodations in Ibiza, Portugal, and Oman
“Extended family groups tend to need larger and connected rooms, more opportunities to be together en masse and activities that keep everyone happy in their own company too,” says Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs. “As travelers return to us ready to embrace their time with their family and friends, the topic of reconnection continues to be more important than ever. In addition to space, everything you would expect from a Six Senses stay is included, such as priority in-room service and a dedicated Guest Experience Maker.”

Nostradamus once said, “Ibiza will be Earth’s final refuge”. Maybe he had his eye on the split-level ten-bedroom Pinnacle at Six Senses Ibiza, a mansion complete with open plan kitchen, spacious living room, ballroom, degustation room, and cinema. The garage and private parking lead to a separate and independent entrance, private pool, and private garden with sunset terrace. The three-level, five-bedroom Cliffhanger mansion, which combines a traditional Finca aesthetic with all the modern comforts, is located right on the honeycomb cliffs of Xarraca Bay. Outside there is a private pool and multiple terraces for lounging, sun salutations and sundowners. For larger parties, there’s also the flexible option to link to a four-bedroom Townhouse, enhancing the Cliffhanger to nine bedrooms and opening access to a spacious rooftop terrace.

From this Summer, Six Senses Douro Valley will open a range of new villa options for families seeking additional space. Featuring locally inspired architecture and furnishings, enhanced with an array of modern comforts and amenities, the one-bedroom and two-bedroom Pool Villas have a fully appointed kitchen, separate dining and living areas, fireplace, and wine fridge. Outside, there’s a separate entrance, heated pool, and private sundeck with day beds overlooking the vineyard. In addition, there are nine separate Villa Rooms and Suites sharing a plunge pool, lawn, and sundeck with vineyard views. These may be reserved individually or together to offer up to nine bedrooms.

Renovations are now complete on the Beachfront Retreats and Reserve at Six Senses Zighy Bay. The two three-bedroom Beachfront Retreats, built in a traditional Omani village style, are located at either end of the beach, overlooking the sea. They each feature an oversized infinity-edge pool, expansive outdoor seating area, new furnishings including handwoven fabrics and well furnishings, and modern amenities. This makes them perfect for bringing the whole tribe or – why not – leaving the tribe at home and luxuriating in one’s own company. The Reserve is a true Arabian palace of wonders, the largest of its kind in the Middle East. It offers four separate villas serving as bedrooms within the enclave of the property and is located on the tip of Zighy Bay, away from the main resort, on its own stretch of private beach. Along with a variety of separate living and dining areas for entertaining, groups can enjoy a self-sufficient vacation with a private spa suite, wine cellar, separate staff quarters, infinity swimming pool and playroom with oversized pool table, private cinema, and bar.

More information about the existing portfolio of spacious, multi-bedroom residences is available in the Reserves and Retreats brochure. Please note, this brochure does not reflect the updates above.

Happy Homes for VIP Residents

In addition to human hospitality, Six Senses provides homes for 10 species that are listed as endangered or critically endangered, including marine life (green and hawksbill turtles, ornate eagle rays, gray reef sharks, whale sharks, giant guitarfish, and Napoleon wrasses), land animals (Fijian crested iguanas and black-shanked douc langurs) and birdlife (Bali starlings). What’s more, in 2021 alone, 151 coral fragments were successfully replanted, chickens across the group enjoyed surround sound in their coops for happy laying conditions, resulting in 70,000 eggs, and Junior Eco Warriors continued the construction of Hornbill Villas at Six Senses Yao Noi.

Vijaya’s offerings range from touch therapy to tarot card reading with a host of variations in between. Vijaya’s Access Bars treatment is a completely new concept for the Spa at Six Senses Fiji and is a popular treatment choice for guests looking to release their selves of negative thoughts and energy.

Access bars are 32 different points on the head which, when gently touched, effortlessly and easily releases limitations or restrictions within the mind. These points contain thoughts, ideas, beliefs, emotions, and considerations we have stored from all our lifetimes. Each bars session can release five to 10 thousand years of limitations in the area of life that corresponds with the specific bar being touched. This is an incredibly nurturing and relaxing process, that undoes limitations in all aspects of your life, where you are willing to change.

Fiona Winger, Resort Manager says “the Access Bar treatment was incredibly enlightening and a really interesting type of treatment, different to anything I’ve tried before. I left my session with Vijaya feeling relaxed and energized, and looking forward to experiencing more of Vijaya’s holistic treatments”.

A 60 minute Access Bar treatment is just FJD 625 including taxes. Advanced bookings can be made by reaching out to the team on reservations-fiji-spa@sixsenses.com.
