LATAM Airlines Announces Over 137,000 Flights Scheduled from December to February, Anticipating a 22% Increase in Passenger Volume

In response to the strong air travel demand projected for December 2023 - February 2024, LATAM Airlines Group has scheduled more than 137,000 flights, equivalent to more than 25 million seats. This is 16,000 additional flights compared to the same period 2022-2023, a 22% increase in the air traffic passenger demand, compared to the previous season.

Chris Ellis, Country Manager Oceania, stated, “Over the last few months, we've experienced a recovery in demand for international flights. People are back to travelling for leisure, and we're happy to be able to meet the demand with these 16,000 additional flights throughout our vast network of 148 destinations across the world.”

This year, LATAM Airlines has launched 21 routes. 15 of these routes are international services, including direct flights between Melbourne and Santiago (Chile), as well as flights between Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Johannesburg (South Africa).

Over the period of January to October 2023, LATAM Airlines transported more than 60 million passengers. This is an 18.1% increase compared with the same period last year. In October, the number of passengers transported reached 6.4 million and 1.2 million international flights, an increase of 38.4 % on October 2022.

LATAM Airlines Signs Exclusive Agreement with Paramount+

LATAM Airlines is thrilled to announce that starting in December, passengers will have complimentary access to Paramount+ content through the airline's onboard entertainment service, LATAM Play. This exciting development is a result of an exclusive agreement between LATAM Airlines and Paramount+, bringing a vast selection of streaming content to the airline's fleet of over 300 aircraft. LATAM passengers can now enjoy an enhanced inflight experience as they travel to any of the 148 destinations across 25 countries.

LATAM is the only airline in South America to feature Paramount+ content in its onboard service. This allows its passengers to choose from over 70 episodes of exclusive Paramount+ series, including the likes of HALO, Tulsa King and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, among others.

LATAM Announces Launch Date for Non-Stop Sydney-Santiago Service

LATAM Airlines Group announced today that tickets are now on sale for its non-stop flight from Santiago to Sydney, Australia, which it will operate with Boeing 787-9 aircraft starting 27 October 2019.

LATAM will offer three non-stop flights per week between the two cities, while reducing the number of services between Santiago and Sydney with a stop-over in Auckland from seven to four weekly frequencies. With the new itinerary, LATAM will continue to offer a daily service between Chile's capital and Australia's largest city, while offering improved connections via its Santiago hub and to/from cities in Asia including Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul and Hong Kong.

“This non-stop Santiago-Sydney flight will further improve the connectivity we offer between South America, Australia and Asia, as we continue to adapt our network to meet the needs of our passengers on both sides of the Pacific,” said Roberto Alvo, Chief Commercial Officer, LATAM Airlines Group.

The flight will also complement LATAM's non-stop service between Santiago and Melbourne, which it launched in October 2017. All LATAM flights serving Oceania are operated by state-of-the-art Boeing 787 aircraft.

Sydney-Santiago schedule
LATAM Airlines Group flight LA803 will depart Santiago (SCL) at 01:30am (local time) on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Sydney (SYD) at 06:15am the following day (local time), with a flight time of 14 hours and 45 minutes. The return flight (LA802) will depart Sydney at 10:00am (local time) on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Santiago at 09:15am (local time) the same day, with a journey time of 13 hours 15 minutes.

Sydney-Auckland-Santiago
Starting 27 October 2019, LATAM Airlines Group flight LA801 (Santiago-Auckland-Sydney) will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Santiago (SCL) at 00:40am and arriving in Auckland (AKL) at 05:05am the following day (local time), before continuing onwards to Sydney at 07:40am with a final arrival time of 09:15am. The return flight (LA800) will depart Sydney at 11:10am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and arrive in Auckland at 4:15pm with the Auckland-Santiago leg departing at 6:10pm and arriving at 1:05pm the same day (all times local).
