Fly Smart: Jetstar’s Seamless Newcastle to Singapore Service via Bali Takes Off

Fly Smart: Jetstar’s Seamless Newcastle to Singapore Service via Bali Takes Off

Travellers in regional New South Wales are set to enjoy a simpler, smarter way to reach Asia, with Jetstar Airways launching its one-stop, same-plane service from Newcastle Airport to Singapore via Bali from 29 March. Designed for convenience and comfort, this streamlined route removes the usual travel hassles while opening the gateway to one of Asia’s most exciting destinations.

Depart after breakfast in Newcastle and arrive in Singapore in time for dinner and a Singapore Sling. With no plane changes and no baggage rechecks, the journey becomes part of the holiday experience.

A Stress-Free Journey from Takeoff to Touchdown

This innovative service keeps passengers on the same aircraft during a brief stopover in Bali. Instead of navigating busy terminals, travellers can stretch their legs during the approximately 90-minute stop before continuing on to Singapore.

The process is refreshingly simple:
  • Book your Newcastle–Singapore flight with Jetstar
  • Depart Newcastle after breakfast
  • Enjoy a short Bali stopover without leaving the aircraft
  • Land in Singapore ready to begin your adventure
  • On the return journey, checked luggage travels straight through to Newcastle

The convenience of through-checked baggage and uninterrupted seating makes this route particularly appealing for families, first-time international travellers, and anyone who values ease over complexity.

Why Singapore Remains a Must-Visit Destination

Singapore blends futuristic architecture with rich cultural heritage, world-class dining and effortless public transport. Visitors can explore the iconic Marina Bay Sands skyline, wander through the lush Gardens by the Bay, and savour diverse flavours at vibrant hawker centres.

Whether you’re seeking luxury shopping, street food adventures, or family-friendly attractions, Singapore delivers an experience that is both sophisticated and accessible.

The Bali Bonus: A Pause in Paradise

Although brief, the Bali stop offers a welcome opportunity to refresh mid-journey. The island’s reputation for hospitality and tropical charm adds a pleasant psychological break to the trip, making the flight feel shorter and more relaxed.

Perfect for Regional Travellers

For residents of Newcastle and the surrounding Hunter region, this new service eliminates the need to travel to major capital city airports. Starting your international journey locally saves time, reduces stress and simplifies logistics, particularly for families or travellers with tight schedules.

Book Your Singapore Escape

Jetstar’s same-plane service delivers a smooth, efficient travel experience that begins close to home and ends in one of Asia’s most dynamic cities. With seamless connections, simplified baggage handling and a comfortable stop in Bali, the journey is as enjoyable as the destination.

Travellers can now book flights and plan their Singapore getaway with confidence, knowing their holiday begins the moment they leave Newcastle.

Escape to Paradise: New Jetstar Direct Flights from Gold Coast to Bali Take Off

Jetstar
Jetstar has just unveiled its latest travel offering — direct flights between the Gold Coast and Bali (Denpasar) launching on 1 August 2025. This exciting new route makes Jetstar the first low-cost carrier to connect the glittering Gold Coast with the tropical beauty of Bali non-stop, making travel to one of Australia's favourite overseas destinations simpler, cheaper, and more convenient.

The addition of this route strengthens Jetstar’s position as the largest airline flying to and from the Gold Coast, with the carrier continuing to grow its international network and invest in Queensland tourism.

More seats, more sunshine

With three flights a week, the new service will introduce more than 58,000 affordable seats annually between the Gold Coast and Bali. Operated by Jetstar’s newest Airbus A320neo aircraft, the flights promise improved fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.

Whether it’s a beach escape, cultural adventure, or a quick tropical recharge, this route offers a new level of flexibility and accessibility for travellers based in Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

Stephanie Tully, Jetstar Group CEO, said the launch responds directly to customer demand. “Bali is our most popular international destination and it’s easy to understand why — from its beaches and resorts to its food and affordability. We’re thrilled to connect Gold Coast travellers directly to this iconic destination.”

Bali demand drives new opportunity

Queensland Airports Limited CEO, Amelia Evans, highlighted the significance of the new service, noting that over 130,000 passengers have travelled between the two regions in the past two years alone.

Fly Non-Stop Sydney To Margaret River, Where Easter Has Never Looked So Good

A non-stop Jetstar route connecting Sydney and Busselton-Margaret River Airport has been announced today, to start three times a week on March 26, 2024.

Following the success of the Melbourne non-stop flights last year, this new offering gives Sydney-siders easier access to the iconic Margaret River Region, famed for its incredible premium wines, spectacular coastline, dazzling caves and towering forests.

Busselton is the northern hub of the Margaret River Region and it's had quite a coming of age in 2023, with a boom of new food and beverage offerings, accommodation, and experiences.

Here's a few highlights in 2023, and a sneak peek into what's coming:
  • The highly anticipated Hilton Garden Inn Busselton is set to officially open its doors in February 2024, ideally located on the calm shores of Geographe Bay. The five-storey property will offer 112-rooms, heated outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, and event space, and is located directly adjacent to Busselton Jetty, Shelter Brewing and recently reopened The Goose (more on that below).
  • Just 15-minutes south of Busselton is a new boutique glamping accommodation offering for the region, Willow Wood Glamping Retreat. The adults only retreat includes 10 sustainable eco-tents nestled amongst nature on a hundred-acre farm, each with a king or queen-sized bed, ensuite bathrooms and kitchenettes. The retreat also has a dedicated wellness tent, offering massages and spa experiences using Aboriginal botanical spa product, Larn'wa.
  • Three (yes, three!) Heyscape Tiny Cabins have popped up Busselton, bringing the company's offering in WA to 25. Heyscape is a locally owned business in WA, operated in collaboration with enthusiastic landowners to feature its cosy cabins on stunning and secluded properties that introduce the unique regions to visitors. The premium boutique cabins are entirely self-sufficient, relying on solar power, batteries and a water tank, making them the perfect retreat for those seeking to disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with nature and each other.
  • The longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere has welcomed 13 underwater sculptures, to create a sculpture trail and artificial reef at the end of the 1.8 kilometre icon in the Margaret River Region. This new addition to the Busselton Jetty is a submerged experience for divers, swimmers and snorkellers, while the sculptures create new habitat for local marine wildlife. Sculptures featured in this project are a tribute to WA, designed by local artists and displayed within one of the state's most iconic destinations. To enhance the immersive experience for visitors, special signage and a map will be provided for the underwater journey.
  • Stage One of the Busselton Central Shopping Centre's major $45 million dollar redevelopment opened to the public in July 2023. This exciting development has seen the existing shopping centre almost double in size, offering a new level of shopping, entertainment and dining options to the region. The highly anticipated entertainment and dining precinct has opened in time for summer, with the new Inara Restaurant serving up the unique flavours of Levantine cuisine. The Busselton Pavilion will open its doors in early 2024, offering a new destination dining experience from award-winning WA hospitality stalwart John Parker from Parker Group and ex-Vasse Felix head chef Brendan Pratt the creative culinary director. It will boast a restaurant and bar, local wine store, providore and distillery.
  • The Goose is back and once again serving locals and visitors with an all-day dining menu on the iconic Busselton foreshore. The popular restaurant was destroyed by fire in 2021, but the owners were always committed to rebuilding, and reopened its doors in July 2023.
  • Boutique distillery Beyond Distilling has opened its doors for tastings, offering an award-winning range of spirits created using sustainably grown botanicals from across WA and grains from farms in WA's Mid-West, the home region of co-owner Josh Kennedy, premiership player for the West Coast Eagles AFL side. The unique and truly WA range includes three gins, a vodka and specialty small batch spirits such as bourbon and absinthe.

The new flight will provide 25,000 additional inbound seats to WA's South West in its first year, including overseas travellers wishing to access the world-renowned food and wine region without stopping over in Perth.

The Busselton-Margaret River Airport is conveniently located 6.8km from the Busselton city centre and just a 45-minute drive from the town of Margaret River.

Flights went on sale today at 11am AEDT, with fares starting from as low as $109^.
