RETREAT TO A TRANQUIL OASIS ABOVE BUSTLING BANGKOK AT THE PARK HYATT BANGKOK

Park Hyatt Bangkok
Park Hyatt Bangkok is centrally located in the heart of the Thai capital’s central business district. Park Hyatt Bangkok features contemporary architecture matched by luxurious residential interiors, expertly curated art, world-class food and wine, and refined service, all coupled with a promise to oer uniquely Thai experiences that reect the country’s rich culture, gracious hospitality, and colorful lifestyles.

Once the scene of elegant garden parties hosted by the British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, the prime corner plot in the heart of the city is now home to Park Hyatt Bangkok. The interior design brief – to create a sophisticated private residence and sanctuary reflecting Thailand’s rich culture – was eloquently executed by New York-based Yabu Pushelberg, who also served as the designers of the brand’s flagship Park Hyatt New York hotel. This is the award-winning design duo’s rst hotel in Bangkok, and they have created a calm and stylish environment unfolding through a series of unique and intimate spaces. New York-based AvroKO designed the three uppermost oors of the hotel’s Penthouse Grill + Bar.

Park Hyatt hotels provide discerning, global travelers with a refined home-away-from-home. Guests of Park Hyatt hotels receive quietly confident and personalized service in an enriching environment. Located in several of the world's premier destinations, each Park Hyatt hotel is custom designed to combine sophistication with understated luxury. Park Hyatt hotels feature well-appointed guest rooms, world-renowned artwork and design, rare and immersive culinary experiences, and signature restaurants featuring award-winning chefs.

Design

“We found the perfect interior for Park Hyatt Bangkok is when all the parts – the lighting, materials, space, texture – work as a whole and you get this sense of calmness, of sensuality,” said designer and co-founder Glenn Pushelberg.

Park Hyatt Bangkok
Park Hyatt Bangkok’s architecture is designed by AL_A, the London-based studio founded by Amanda Levete and Bangkok-based Pi Design (consultant architect of record). The hotel and an adjacent luxury shopping mall are bound together by a continual looped form merging plinth and tower. The twisted coil forms a three-dimensional figure of eight, a lucky number in Chinese culture. Drawing on motifs and patterns found in traditional Thai architecture, the eye-catching façade is clad in extruded aluminium tiles, creating a shimmering moiré-like pattern. The design comes together with spectacular views of the bustling, energetic city from numerous outdoor terraces.

Art Collection

Similar to other Park Hyatt hotels, art is intrinsic to the experience. Two of Park Hyatt Bangkok’s most dramatic installations were created by Japanese artist Hirotoshi Sawada. ‘Pagoda Mirage’ incorporates hundreds of small, conical copper swirls, suspended en masse to evoke the reflection of a pagoda on  water. Equally striking is the ‘Naga’ (Level 9), a series of batons suspended from the ceiling that resembles a mythical water dragon traveling between the pool and the internal waterfall.

Suites

The 222 rooms and suites, in 57 different room configurations, with large floor-to-ceiling windows, invite discerning guests into a world of tailored luxuries, personalized touches and fascinating decorative details. Connecting the interiors is a soft cream and taupe neutral palette edged with black accents, pale wood and subtle Thai accents. The entry-level rooms, starting at 48 sqm, rank among the largest in the city. All rooms and suites feature a striking lotus bloom hand-carved into the creamy stone wall. Add to this bespoke bathroom amenities by Le Labo of New York, soaking bathtubs, rain showers and illuminated make-up mirrors in all rooms.

Recreational Facilities

Park Hyatt Bangkok
High above the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, the Pool Terrace is an oasis of calm. A spectacular 40m saltwater pool, surrounded by the tropical foliage of a landscaped garden, lies at the heart of this oasis. Nestled in the greenery are sun loungers and cabanas that add to the resort-like vibe. An experience that comes with dramatic city views.

Designed to energize and inspire, the Fitness Center features state-of-the-art strength training and cardiovascular exercise machines. Guests have 24-hour access to all its facilities.

The Spa

A temple of well-being and relaxation, the Pañpuri Organic Spa (Level 10 & 11) at Park Hyatt Bangkok is the epitome of luxury and indulgence. A tranquil sanctuary, it inspires you to unwind, relax and rejuvenate with an array of personalized body and facial treatments. Besides the eight luxuriously appointed treatment rooms (including two double suites), The Spa features a relaxation lounge, crystal-steam rooms, laconium dry-heat rooms, whirlpools, and experience showers.

Event Spaces

The art-lled venues oer unique opportunities blending elegant facilities with expert event planning – perfect for intimate to mid-size gatherings and weddings.

Hotel guestrooms are currently available for reservations from 15 September, providing unrivalled accommodation options that will set a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in New Zealand.

The hotel will offer intuitive and personalised experiences for discerning domestic travellers, with signature restaurant Onemata set to offer gastronomic delights to both guests and the local community.

“We look forward to introducing the exceptional service that the Park Hyatt brand is renowned for in this dynamic city as the domestic tourism industry in New Zealand evolves in this new era of travel,” said General Manager Brett Sweetman, Park Hyatt Auckland. “In spite of Covid-19, we have kept all 150 employees on board thanks to owners Fu Wah and will recruit more colleagues when the hotel opens. We have created something that will be truly special, and we invite Aucklanders to experience our food and beverage offerings in our waterfront surroundings alongside the standout views.”

Guests booking ahead of 31st October 2020 to stay at the hotel before 31st December can take advantage of Park Hyatt Auckland's opening offer and receive NZD$50 credit per night to spend on site as well as a complimentary room upgrade to the next room category.

Concept and design
Designed by Ali Reda from ar+d in Singapore and partnering with local Bossley Architects, the seven-storey hotel has been designed to reflect a Māori wharenui (house) – to be a place of gathering that brings families and communities together. A wharenui is fundamental to Māori life and stands as the beating heart of Māori culture. The exterior of the hotel centres on the notion of a Māori cloak around the building, creating a double skin offering warmth, privacy and beauty.

Park Hyatt Auckland's elegant and comfortable interiors were designed by the UK-based Conran and Partners to feel like a home away from home. The hotel's design evokes a haven of tranquillity and a waterfront oasis that is a short seaside stroll to the bustling CBD. New Zealand's distinct heritage is woven throughout the hotel's interior and exterior design accents. The designers worked closely with local Iwi to feature traditional Māori artworks, while native Totara Pouwhenua (carvings) will line the entrances to welcome guests into the hotel.

GuestroomsRanging from 47sqm rooms (almost double the size of comparable rooms in the city), to the 245sqm Presidential Suite, all 195 guestrooms will feature Māori accents, custom-designed tukutuku panels and rugs, made from New Zealand wool. The 23 suites will offer commanding views with the Presidential Suite positioned on the rooftop, featuring an internal garden and a large 125sqm terrace to entertain and soak up the spectacular panoramic views.

Upon entering each elegantly appointed room, guests will benefit from spacious living areas and floor-to-ceiling windows, with the majority of rooms overlooking the Lighter Quay or the harbour. Twin bedrooms will comprise two king single beds and two bathrooms, providing a comfortable sharing experience. The marble bathrooms will come with a separate walk-in shower and deep-soaking bath with luxurious, plant-based, and cruelty-free bath products by cult New York perfumer Le Labo.

Drinking and dining
Park Hyatt Auckland will launch a collection of bars and restaurants designed to enable guests to meet, drink and dine against the mesmerising city skyline and water backdrop as they enjoy authentic and personalised service. The creative culinary team will be helmed by Executive Chef, Brent Martin, a New Zealander who has returned home after an illustrious career spanning six countries and over 20 years managing restaurants in some of the world's top hotels.

Drawing from New Zealand's rich and diverse landscapes and culinary innovation, the immersive dining experiences will include:
  • Onemata, the hotel's signature restaurant, will serve the finest local produce with a menu driven by seasonal ingredients supplied by carefully chosen New Zealandfood artisans and suppliers.
  • The Pantry will offer something for everyone, from a quick grab and go for those on the move to a dine-in experience featuring a modern fresh menu in a relaxed environment.
  • The Living Room, the hotel's all-day dining venue, will include a-la-carte breakfast and a unique afternoon tea experience with picturesque views on the water's edge.
  • Captain's Bar will concoct classic cocktails with a local twist, from an extensive list of fortified spirits and a menu of snacks and sharing platters.

Events
With more than 9,500 sqm of flexible event spaces, including a ceremonial garden, meeting rooms and Waka; the rooftop bar, Park Hyatt Auckland aims to be the city's premier location for inspirational and sophisticated social events. The event team at Park Hyatt Auckland will ensure any gathering is defined by creativity and imagination with personalised planning like customised menus and unique decor, providing a commitment to quality with mastery over the details.

“We are incredibly excited to see the opening of Park Hyatt Auckland which will incorporate much from New Zealand's Māori culture including artworks and design features to create an intimate environment that is both beautifully stylish and welcoming,” said Mr Sweetman. “With the spacious comfort of our guestrooms, immersive culinary experiences and sophisticated yet flexible event spaces - complemented by the highest standard of service - we are confident that our guests will experience a level of unparalleled hospitality in the city.”
