The Extra Mile: Experiential Incentive Travel Redefines Global Journeys

A New Era of Incentive Travel Experiences

In a world where meaningful travel experiences are increasingly valued over material rewards, SITE has unveiled a compelling new vision for the future of incentive travel. The latest eBook, The Extra Mile in Incentive Travel: Experiential Incentives, marks the seventh edition in the acclaimed series developed in partnership with Radisson Hotels.

This insightful release explores how immersive, authentic and culturally rich experiences are reshaping the way organisations reward performance and inspire teams. It highlights a shift away from traditional luxury towards journeys that create lasting emotional connections and memorable storytelling moments.

Five Global Cities Leading the Way

At the heart of this edition are five diverse and dynamic destinations, each offering a unique canvas for incentive travel planners seeking something extraordinary.

In Oslo, travellers are welcomed by crisp Nordic air, dramatic fjord landscapes and a design-forward culture that blends nature with innovation.

Bangkok delivers vibrant street life, world-renowned cuisine and an infectious energy that immerses visitors in its rich cultural tapestry.

In Shanghai, cutting-edge architecture meets a passion for sport and spectacle, creating a high-energy urban experience that resonates with modern travellers.

Nairobi offers a rare fusion of urban sophistication and wildlife encounters, where business and adventure exist side by side.

Meanwhile, Istanbul captivates with its layered history, cross-cultural influences and dramatic skyline that bridges continents and centuries.

Each destination has been carefully selected for its ability to inspire curiosity, reward achievement and deliver experiences that extend far beyond the expected.

Designing Incentives That Inspire and Engage

The eBook emphasises the growing importance of experiential travel in motivating teams and fostering deeper engagement. Incentive programmes are no longer simply about luxury accommodation or exclusive access, but about crafting moments that resonate on a personal level.

From curated cultural encounters and local culinary journeys to behind-the-scenes access and immersive activities, these experiences create a sense of discovery that strengthens both individual and collective motivation.

For planners, the message is clear: the most successful incentive travel programmes are those that prioritise authenticity, connection and meaningful engagement.

A Strategic Tool for Modern Travel Planners

Beyond inspiration, The Extra Mile in Incentive Travel: Experiential Incentives serves as a practical guide for industry professionals. It provides valuable insights into destination selection, programme design and emerging traveller expectations, making it an essential resource for anyone involved in corporate travel, events or incentive planning.

By showcasing cities that combine accessibility, infrastructure and cultural depth, the eBook positions itself as both a source of ideas and a strategic planning tool for delivering high-impact travel experiences.

The Future of Incentive Travel

As the global travel landscape continues to evolve, experiential incentives are set to play an increasingly important role in shaping the industry. The latest release from SITE and Radisson Hotels reflects a broader movement towards travel that is purposeful, immersive and deeply rewarding.

For organisations seeking to inspire performance and create unforgettable journeys, the message is simple: go the extra mile, and the rewards will follow.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay
As Four Seasons marks its 65th anniversary, the company enters the year from a position of strength – guided by a disciplined approach to growth, a deeply embedded culture of service, and a long-term view of value creation across its global portfolio.

“This milestone year marks both a proud legacy and a clear path forward,” says Alejandro Reynal, President and Chief Executive Officer, Four Seasons. “Our strength comes from staying true to our values – service excellence and genuine care – while growing intentionally and innovating with purpose. That balance is what will continue to guide Four Seasons for decades to come.”

Founded in 1961 by Isadore Sharp with a single hotel in Toronto, Four Seasons has strategically evolved over six decades, building a global portfolio of hotels, resorts, residences, and journeys that are intrinsically connected to each destination while consistently delivering elevated, service-led experiences worldwide. Throughout its history, the company has remained committed to a single, unified brand, ensuring that every experience – whether guests stay, live, or travel with Four Seasons – is unmistakably its own.

“Personalized service, delivered with warmth and authenticity, is our most enduring advantage,” adds Reynal. “Our deeply embedded culture has enabled Four Seasons to expand, evolve, and inspire guests across generations. As we look ahead, we remain focused on growing with intention, protecting what makes Four Seasons special, while continuing to introduce exceptional products and experiences that elevate the moments we create for our employees, guests, residents, and partners.”

Also along the Red Sea, a one-of-a-kind wellness resort experience will be unveiled at Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay. In one of the nation’s historic capitals, Four Seasons Hotel Madinah will blend modern comfort with spiritual heritage near the Prophet’s Mosque.

No Passport, No Problem: Contiki Helps Young Aussies Unlock Europe in 2026

Paris
A breakthrough offer is making dream European adventures more accessible than ever for young Australian travellers.

Contiki Removes One of the Biggest Barriers to Overseas Travel

For many young Australians, the world’s most expensive passport has long been the first major hurdle to international travel. With Australia’s passport costing $412, new Contiki and YouGov research shows the price tag is holding thousands back from booking their dream escape. Now, Contiki is stepping in with a bold solution that is set to transform travel plans in 2026.

A recent survey of 1,017 Gen Z and Millennial Australians found strong enthusiasm for overseas travel, with 94% eager to explore new cultures, create lifelong memories and experience the growth that travel brings. Despite this, 82% of respondents say they face significant barriers to travelling – and for many, the cost of simply getting a passport is the biggest stumbling block.

A Passport Paid For: Contiki’s Game-Changing Euro’26 Offer

In a move designed to break down financial barriers, Contiki is covering the $412 passport fee for eligible travellers who book a valid Euro’26 trip before 25 December. With one in five young Australians reporting that the cost of obtaining a passport restricts their ability to travel, this initiative aims to remove the barrier completely.

New Zealand
Research revealed that nearly one in three young Australians who have never been overseas cite passport costs as a major obstacle, while 20% say the cost alone stops them from even starting to plan a trip. More than two in five have delayed, cancelled or reconsidered travel altogether because of passport expenses.

Toni Ambler, Chief Customer Officer for Contiki, says the program reflects Contiki’s long-standing commitment to helping young people see more of the world. She notes that young Australians have an undeniable desire for adventure, but they often need help taking the first step.

What Young Aussies Really Think About Passports and Travel

Contiki’s research revealed just how much the passport price tag affects young Australians:
  • 85% of Gen Z and Millennials without a passport say they would book an overseas trip if they received a free passport.
  • 71% think the cost of an Australian passport is too expensive.
  • Almost half were unaware that the Australian passport is the most expensive in the world.

As young travellers gain more experience, their barriers shift. Those who have travelled overseas before are more likely to cite time off work or study as their biggest challenge, while new travellers remain stuck at step one: getting the passport itself.

Europe 2026: A New Era of Youth Travel Begins

Florence
Contiki’s 2026 European trips, from the European Adventurer to Greek Island Hopping, are designed for young travellers craving authentic, memorable experiences. With the passport cost removed, these trips become far more attainable for Aussies dreaming of exploring Europe’s cultures, landscapes and iconic cities.

Contiki’s initiative offers a gateway for young Australians to finally step into the world, with experiences that promise personal growth, new friendships and unforgettable moments.

Unlocking the Freedom to Explore

At a time when rising living costs are impacting young Australians, Contiki’s decision to cover passport fees is more than a promotion. It is a deliberate commitment to support a generation eager to travel but constrained by financial pressures.

Contiki believes that travel should be accessible, transformative and within reach – and by removing the cost of the world’s most expensive passport, the brand is helping young Australians say yes to Europe, yes to adventure and yes to the world.
