Moxy Sydney Airport
If you're looking for a modern, vibrant, and playful place to rest between flights or even as a quick getaway, Moxy Sydney Airport is the ideal spot. Located just minutes from Sydney Airport, it offers a mix of industrial and modern design, along with all the features you need for both work and leisure.

A Vibrant Welcome at Bar Moxy

From the moment I arrived at Moxy Sydney Airport, the fun and upbeat atmosphere was evident. Check-in happens right at Bar Moxy, where you’re greeted with a smile and your room key, along with a complimentary signature cocktail. The check-in process was efficient and friendly, setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.

Bar, Moxy Sydney Airport
The ground floor at Moxy Sydney Airport boasts a stylish, colorful reception area that seamlessly transitions into a lively bar and lounge space. More than just a place to check in, it serves as a vibrant social hub where guests can mingle, relax, or simply enjoy the cozy yet dynamic decor. The hotel's design blends industrial and modern elements, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels both energetic and comfortable.

Bar, Moxy Sydney Airport
With its minimalist approach, Moxy focuses on smart functionality without compromising on style. The vibrant social areas—like the bar, lounge, and cafe—offer the perfect setting to meet others, unwind, or indulge in some fun with a game of ping-pong or Skee-Ball. Moxy redefines traditional hotel experiences by blending work and play in one dynamic space, providing guests with a fresh, fun, and fabulous environment that feels more like a hangout spot than a typical hotel. Whether you're here for business or leisure, it’s the perfect place to find both comfort and excitement.

Comfort and Convenience in a Moxy Queen Sleeper Room

 Moxy Queen Sleeper
My stay was in a Moxy Queen Sleeper room on the 12th floor. Although the room is compact, it’s incredibly smartly designed, maximizing every inch of space. The bed was ultra-comfortable, and the shower was a pleasure to use. I particularly appreciated the quirky little touches, like the retro phone and the clever design choices that save space, such as the table and chairs hanging on the wall when not in use.

Moxy Queen Sleeper
The room also comes with excellent amenities, including a 55-inch HDTV with Chromecast, fast Wi-Fi, and air conditioning—perfect for those who need to stay connected or just unwind after a day of travel. The safe is tucked away in a drawer under the bed, adding to the room's sleek design. The rain shower was wonderful and the bathroom itself was efficiently laid out. The separate vanity area outside the bathroom made getting ready with multiple people a breeze.

Dining Options to Satisfy Any Appetite

Moxy Sydney Airport
One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic dining options available at Moxy Sydney Airport. I started my day with a delicious breakfast at Moxy Kitchen, which serves a modern Australian menu featuring both hot and cold options. The breakfast selection was varied, offering everything from fresh pastries to heartier choices.

For lunch, I indulged in a grilled chicken pesto sandwich and fries which were delicious. The vibrant setting of Moxy Kitchen, combined with its energetic atmosphere, made for a perfect lunch break.

Little Baxter Moxy Sydney Airport
Additionally, Little Baxter Café, situated on the ground floor, offers premium Double Roasters coffee, and their pastries from a local bakery made for the perfect afternoon snack. I particularly enjoyed their latte.

Although I didn’t have the chance to check out Bar Moxy in the evenings, the cocktails and local drinks offered there are reportedly not to be missed. If you're looking for a quick snack, Moxy PickUps provides a self-service shop stocked with healthy bites and drinks—perfect for those on the go.

A Space to Unwind and Stay Active

 Moxy Sydney Airport Fitness Centre
The hotel isn't just about comfort and style; it also offers excellent leisure facilities. The fitness center features state-of-the-art equipment, including free weights, a pink punching bag, rowing machine, and a squat rack. Even if you're just passing through, it's a great spot to stay active during your stay.  I saw a few hotel guests taking advantage of the new gym equipment in the fitness centre.

Complimentary Airport Shuttle for Added Convenience

Shuttle Bus Moxy Sydney Airport
One of the best features of Moxy Sydney Airport is the complimentary shuttle service. You can hop on the shuttle bus directly from the airport or from Mascot train station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. I even took the shuttle back to the station when I checked out—no hassle, just a quick and easy ride.

Final Thoughts: A Fun, Fresh Stay

Lounge area Moxy Sydney Airport
Moxy Hotels is part of Marriott International, a global hotel chain. Moxy Hotels can be found in many cities around the world, including Bangkok, where I had the pleasure of staying at the Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong last year. A new Moxy will open in the Sydney CBD later this year. The 314 room hotel in Pitt Street will have the highest open-air rooftop bar in the city.

Moxy Sydney Airport is everything I expected and more—a fun, fresh, and Lounge  place that is as ideal for business travelers as it is for leisure. The hotel's modern design, smart room features, and lively social spaces make it stand out from traditional hotels. Whether you’re looking for a quick stopover or a staycation near the airport, Moxy is a perfect choice. Would I stay again? Absolutely!

Discover Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong: The Trendy New Hub for Modern Travelers

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
When I was planning my trip to Bangkok, I knew I wanted to stay somewhere that wasn’t just a hotel—it had to be an experience. After reading about newly opened Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong, I decided to give it a try. Located in the heart of one of Bangkok's most vibrant districts, Ratchaprasong, it promised a blend of style, comfort, and excitement. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the moment I walked through the door, I could tell this was going to be something different.

In this article, I’ll take you through my personal experience at Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong, from the fantastic location to the quirky design, high-tech amenities, and the unique vibe that made my stay so memorable.

Perfectly Positioned: A Prime Location in the Heart of Bangkok

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The first thing that struck me about Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong was its incredible location. Situated right in the center of Ratchaprasong, this district is buzzing with energy and offers so much to see and do. Within a short walk, I was at some of Bangkok’s most iconic spots—CentralWorld, Big C, Pratunam Market, and Erawan Shrine. Whether I was window shopping in high-end malls or exploring quirky little shops, everything was right at my doorstep.

Plus, the hotel is just steps away from the Ratchaprasong Skytrain station, which made it super easy to navigate the rest of Bangkok. I loved how convenient it was to get around, whether I was headed to the markets or to visit cultural sights like the Grand Palace or Chatuchak Weekend Market. Having such a central location really made my trip so much smoother.

Bold and Playful Design: A Hotel That Feels Like an Art Gallery
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong

From the moment I stepped through the doors of Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong, I was greeted by an electric, fun-filled atmosphere that immediately set the hotel apart from any ordinary stay. The design effortlessly blends urban chic with local Thai flair, creating a bold and playful space that feels both trendy and welcoming. The expansive open-concept lobby on the 9th floor is the heart of the hotel—a vibrant, multifunctional hub where guests can relax, socialize, or even get some work done. The space feels like an art gallery, with bright colors, artistic murals, and contemporary furniture that give it an energizing, creative vibe. Local artwork is thoughtfully integrated throughout, paying homage to Bangkok’s rich culture and adding a unique touch that celebrates the city’s vibrant spirit.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The hotel’s design is all about innovation and individuality. Everywhere I looked, there was something eye-catching—whether it was the funky neon signs, quirky furnishings, or graffiti-style murals. It felt like stepping into a creative playground where modern design meets cultural authenticity, offering a unique and unforgettable visual experience. Exposed brick and sleek metal accents bring an industrial edge to the space, while bold pops of color and contemporary art give it an almost futuristic feel. It’s a fresh, welcoming environment that feels alive with energy and creativity.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
One of the things that truly sets Moxy apart is the lack of a traditional check-in desk. Instead, check-in happens at the bar, where the friendly staff greets you with warm smiles and a relaxed, informal approach. Forget the usual business suits—these staff members wear casual t-shirts that proudly announce they’re part of the Moxy crew, making you feel more like a guest at a social hangout than a typical hotel. This laid-back vibe sets the tone for the rest of the stay—easygoing, welcoming, and full of energy.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience in itself. The hotel's design is a perfect reflection of that ethos, offering a space that’s as visually engaging as it is welcoming. Every corner invites exploration, from the vibrant murals to the quirky furniture, and the mix of modern design with traditional cultural elements makes it an unforgettable place to stay. The design is all about innovation and individuality. Everywhere I looked, there was something eye-catching.  This isn’t just about a hotel room—it’s about being immersed in a space that inspires and excites, and that, to me, is what makes Moxy truly special.

Comfortable, Tech-Savvy Rooms: Everything You Need and More

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
When I entered my room, I was immediately impressed by the sleek, minimalist design. The room was clean, modern, and inviting, with just the right balance of comfort and style. The bed was huge and super comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring.

But what really stood out to me were the tech-savvy features. The room had everything you need to stay connected and comfortable. I loved the smart TV, which allowed me to stream my favorite shows from Netflix, and the Bluetooth speakers were a nice touch for listening to music or podcasts while I was getting ready.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The room also had plenty of USB ports and power outlets, making it easy to charge all my devices. I didn’t have to scramble for an adapter or worry about finding a free plug. It felt like the hotel had really thought about the needs of modern travelers like me.

The bathroom was just as impressive—sleek, with a spacious rainfall shower that was perfect for refreshing after a day out in the Bangkok heat. The premium toiletries added a touch of luxury, and I loved how well-designed everything was, down to the little details like the lighting and storage space.

The Social Vibe: Mixing Work, Play, and Relaxation

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
What I absolutely loved about Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong was how it blended both work and play in the same space. Whether I was there for business or leisure, the hotel offered plenty of spots to relax, socialize, and even get some work done.

The Moxy Bar was a highlight for me. Located in the heart of the hotel, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The industrial-chic vibe of the bar, with its exposed brick walls, low-hanging light fixtures, and cozy seating, made it an ideal spot to grab a drink and mingle with fellow travelers. The cocktail menu was fantastic, with everything from classic drinks to signature cocktails that were inspired by local flavours.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
There was also a great social atmosphere at the bar. I found it easy to chat with other guests—whether we were sharing travel tips or just enjoying the live music in the background. It felt like the hotel had created a space where people could connect and have fun.

If I needed to work, the co-working space was ideal. It was modern, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed to get things done—high-speed internet, plenty of desk space, and a relaxed environment. I appreciated how flexible the space was—it was a place to focus, but it never felt too stuffy or corporate.

Play and Unwind: Air Hockey, Billiards, and More

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
One of the standout features that sets Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong apart from other hotels is its emphasis on creating a fun, social atmosphere for guests, and nowhere is that more evident than in its dynamic game zone. Whether you're looking to unwind after a day of sightseeing or just want to add some excitement to your stay, this lively area offers a variety of games that keep things engaging and interactive.

The game zone is home to a range of options, starting with the high-energy air hockey table, where I had a blast challenging fellow travelers to a few fast-paced rounds. It’s the perfect way to let off some steam and embrace the playful, laid-back vibe that Moxy is all about. The intense back-and-forth matches had everyone laughing and enjoying themselves, making it a great way to bond with new friends or simply enjoy some downtime.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
For those who prefer more classic games, there’s also a billiards table for a little friendly competition. The spacious, relaxed setting around the pool table makes it easy to enjoy a game with a cold drink in hand, while the upbeat atmosphere encourages other guests to join in or cheer you on. It’s all about keeping the energy fun and social, with a laid-back vibe that makes it feel more like a hangout spot than a typical hotel amenity.

And then there's table soccer (foosball)—one of the highlights of the game zone. The foosball table, located in the hotel’s common area, is the perfect place to challenge your friends, meet other travelers, or even team up with the friendly hotel staff for a friendly match. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just looking to have some fun, it’s an easy and exciting way to break away from the usual hotel routine. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place to mingle with fellow guests and create some lighthearted moments.

What makes Moxy’s game zone stand out is the way it blends work and play. After a busy day of meetings or sightseeing, this space offers a welcome escape where you can interact, de-stress, and have fun. It's not just about playing games—it’s about connecting with others and creating shared experiences, all while soaking in the hotel’s lively, playful spirit.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
Whether you're diving into a fast-paced round of air hockey, enjoying a friendly game of billiards, or kicking back with some table soccer, Moxy’s game zone is an unexpected yet incredibly fun perk of staying at this hotel. It adds a whole new dimension to the experience, making it feel less like a place to sleep and more like a vibrant social space where guests can play, relax, and connect in the heart of Bangkok.

Dining: Delicious and Convenient

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The Moxy Eatery offered a great selection of food, and I found myself enjoying meals there throughout my stay. The breakfast at Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong was an absolute highlight of my stay. From the moment I stepped into the breakfast area, I could tell that this was no ordinary hotel buffet. The spread was a delightful mix of Western favourites and traditional Thai dishes, offering something for every taste and mood. It wasn’t just a meal—it felt like an experience.

The Western options were familiar and comforting, with a variety of choices like scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and freshly baked croissants. There was also a station with smoothies and fresh juices, which was a refreshing way to start the day. For those who enjoy a lighter breakfast, there were options like granola, yogurt, and fresh fruit, perfectly paired with a cup of strong Thai coffee.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
But what truly stood out for me were the authentic Thai dishes. Moxy really made an effort to highlight the local flavours, and I loved the way they integrated them into the breakfast menu. One of my absolute favourites was the Thai-style rice porridge (congee). It was rich, flavourful, and perfectly comforting—just what you need to fuel up for a busy day in Bangkok.

Alongside the congee, there was also a variety of stir-fried noodles, curry dishes, and freshly steamed dim sum. These flavourful Thai breakfast staples provided an exciting way to explore local cuisine, and I found myself returning to them every morning.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
For those with a sweet tooth, the freshly baked pastries were another standout. The selection included everything from buttery croissants and danishes to local Thai sweets like kanom krok (coconut rice pancakes) and mango sticky rice—which, I must say, was a pleasant surprise and a perfect way to start the day.

All in all, the breakfast at Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong wasn’t just about fueling up—it was about embracing the best of both worlds: the comfort of Western favourites and the richness of Thai flavours. Whether I was in the mood for something light or craving a full Thai breakfast, there was always something to satisfy my appetite, and the high quality of the food made each morning feel special.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The restaurant’s menu offers a creative fusion of local and international dishes, making it easy to try something new. For lunch or dinner, I indulged in a few tasty Thai curries and light bites, and everything was fresh and flavorful. It was also super convenient to have food available at the hotel, especially after a long day of exploring when I just wanted to relax and not venture far for a meal.

Of course, if I was in the mood for a quick drink or snack, the Moxy Bar had plenty of options too. It was perfect for those moments when I just needed a little something before heading out for the evening or after a long day on the go.

The Future of Hotels: Technology and Convenience

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong is definitely a tech-forward hotel, and I loved how easy it made my stay. The Moxy Mobile App was a lifesaver—it allowed me to check in, unlock my room, and request services with just a few taps. It felt so convenient and made the whole process of checking in and checking out smooth and hassle-free.

Having high-speed Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel was a huge plus, especially since I needed to stay connected during my stay. Whether I was catching up on emails, doing some research, or streaming a movie, the connection was fast and reliable.

Another tech feature I really appreciated was the ability to control the lighting and air conditioning from my phone or bedside tablet. It was a simple, yet thoughtful touch that made it easy to create the perfect atmosphere in my room.

Stay Fit and Energized at Moxy Bangkok's Fitness Centre

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The Fitness Centre at Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong is a standout feature for anyone looking to stay active while traveling. Located on the property’s upper floor, the gym is sleek, modern, and equipped with all the essentials to help you stay on track with your fitness routine.

While it’s not a sprawling gym like some high-end resorts, it’s compact and thoughtfully designed with state-of-the-art equipment. There are plenty of cardio machines, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and ellipticals, all equipped with individual screens to keep you entertained while you work out.

The gym also features a variety of free weights, kettlebells, and resistance bands, which were perfect for adding variety to my workout routine. Whether you prefer lifting weights or doing bodyweight exercises, the gym has you covered.

What I loved most about the fitness centre was the views. Large windows allowed natural light to flood the space, and the view of the city skyline added a refreshing touch to my workout. There’s something energizing about exercising while taking in the sights of Bangkok, especially in such a vibrant and bustling area like Ratchaprasong.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
The space is also thoughtfully designed for comfort and functionality—with plenty of space to move around, clean towels, and water stations available. Plus, there’s air-conditioning, so you’re always comfortable, even during the most intense workouts.

Overall, the fitness centre at Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong is a great place to stay active during your stay. It’s modern, well-equipped, and has just the right balance of functionality and convenience for a quick workout or an energizing start to your day in Bangkok. Whether you're a regular gym-goer or just looking to burn off some energy, it’s a solid space that caters to your fitness needs.

Fun Experiences and Events: More Than Just a Hotel Stay

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
What really set Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong apart, though, were the experiences the hotel offered. It wasn’t just a place to stay—it was a place to engage with the local culture and meet new people.

One of the highlights of my stay was the Moxy Jam Session, where local musicians performed live music in the hotel. It was such a fun way to unwind, enjoy good music, and connect with other guests. The atmosphere was laid-back, and I found myself chatting with travelers from all over the world, swapping stories and recommendations.

The hotel also regularly hosted other events, like art exhibitions and themed social nights, so there was always something happening. I loved how the hotel created an environment that was interactive and engaging—it made my stay feel more personal and memorable.

Sustainable and Thoughtful Practices

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
Another aspect of Moxy that Ireally appreciated was its commitment to sustainability. The hotel had a number of eco-friendly initiatives in place, like energy-efficient lighting and water conservation systems, and I noticed efforts to minimize waste and reduce environmental impact. There were also recycling stations throughout the hotel and the option to use refillable water bottles instead of single-use plastics.

It felt great knowing that the hotel was doing its part to reduce its environmental footprint while still offering a luxurious, modern experience.

My Asian Adventure: A Month-Long Journey Through Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia

RV Toum Tiou 11
I recently embarked on an unforgettable four-week journey to three Asian countries, exploring the vibrant cultures, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality of Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

I had a great time in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia during my 4 weeks there. The highlights were staying at several new hotels and going on a Mekong River Cruise on the RV Toum Tiou 11. Over the next few days I will write about the places I visited and the things I saw and did in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Mercure Bangkok Surawong
I started my month long holiday by flying from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport to Bangkok, the capitol city of Thailand. The first leg of the Scoot flight was an overnight flight, departing Sydney at 20.55 and arriving at Singapore Changi Airport at 3:20 in the morning. I then enjoyed the company of other travellers in an airport lounge until boarding my next Scoot flight at 12.55 in the afternoon. (The cast and crew from the TV show Travel Guides were also in the lounge.)

After landing at 15.30 at the Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport it was a short walk to the efficient Airport Rail Link to get a  train to the city. I then changed trains to BTS trains and alighted at a station near the Mercure Bangkok Surawong hotel, where I was staying in for the first few days in Bangkok. I enjoyed my time at this brand new hotel very much, where I indulged in delicious meals and relaxing amenities.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong
I then stayed at another new hotel, the Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong. I enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of the check-in area, bar, lounge and restaurant on the 9th floor and my room high up on the 24th floor.

Apart from sightseeing, I was Hosted Media at the IT&CM Asia travel conference held at Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. Here I connected with industry professionals from around the world, savoring local flavors and inspiring talks. On he evening before the conference I was hosted with other delegates at Top Golf Megacity.

Crowne Plaza
For my last nights in Bangkok I stayed at the elegant Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park where I enjoyed a comfortable room, refreshing pool, and delectable meals.

It was time to say goodby to Thailand, so I took the train to the Don Mueang International Airport to board my Air Asia flight at 13.40. I arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Saigon Vietnam at 15.20. The public bus took me into the city centre and it was just a short walk to the Sofitel Saigon Plaza hotel where I stayed for several days. It was then time to leave this wonderful luxurious hotel to try a backpackers hostel. At the Sakura Hostel Saigon I enjoyed the company of the other international backpackers staying in Saigon.

Sofitel Saigon Plaza
The highlight of my trip was the eight-day RV Toum Tiou II cruise along the Mekong River from Vietnam to Cambodia. I shared this unforgettable journey with 13 fellow travelers from Australia, Turkey, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Cambodia. I thoroughly enjoyed the various shore excursions, which allowed us to explore many fascinating locations in both countries. On board, the gourmet food was delightful, featuring buffet breakfasts and lunches, as well as four-course evening meals.

Regency Angkor Hotel
After disembarking the cruise ship in Cambodia I stayed at the Regency Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap.

I then took a Giant Ibis bus to Cambodia's capitol city, Phnom Penh where I checked into the Anik Palace Hotel. lt was then another Giant Ibis bus ride back to Saigon, where I boarded my overnight Jetstar flight at 10.40, landing back Sydney arriving at 11.10. It was a wonderful flight, as I slept all the way.

This flight ended my wonderful month long holiday in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. In upcoming articles in The Holiday and Travel Magazine I will delve into the highlights of my journey, sharing insider tips and inspiring stories. Join me as I relive the magic of Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia in The Holiday and Travel Magazine, where I will reflect on the incredible experiences and memories forged during my month-long Asian adventure.
