There are many hotels scattered ion counties around the world. Some just look like tall office blocks, while others have unique designs that make them stand out amongst the others.

A new hotel has opened in Huzhou, China - the Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort, It is built in the shape of a horseshoe shape. It is hard to comprehend how it would look like drawn on paper, but once seen in reality it looks amazing. It is on the banks of Lake Taihu in the Zhejiang Province. When it is lit up at night its half-ring lights are reflected on the lake below.
The unusual design of the hotel means that every single room has equal amounts of sunshine, natural light, ventilation, and views of the lake.
Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai
This Burj Al Arab Hotel is found in Dubai and is one of the highest in the world. It is shaped like the sail of a dhow (an Arabian boat). The two wings of the “mast” frame the huge atrium in the middle. It is topped off with helicopter landing pads for a quick arrival at the hotel.

The Ryugyong Hotel is located in the Pyongyang, North Korea. It is a 105 story pyramid shaped sky-scraper building and construction first started back in 1987. The hotel is expected to open later this year. The Ryugyong Hotel is 330 metres high, making it the tallest building in North Korea.
The building consists of three wings, each measuring 100 metres long, 18 metres wide, and sloped at a 75‑degree angle. They meet at a common point to form a pinnacle. On top of the building is cone 40 metres wide, which has 8 floors that are intended to revolve, topped by six more static floors.

This hotel is located 40ft under the sea in a lagoon off the shore of a private island in Fiji. It is pletely under the water and is in the style of a submarine. Access is by elevators which lead 40 feet down to 22 pod like guest rooms, an underwater restaurant, bar, library, conference room, wedding chapel and spa.
New Tourism Strategy of China Promises Increase in Outbound Tourism
‘The Outline for National Tourism and Leisure (2013-2020)’, recently
issued by the government of China, sets the ground for the redefinition
of tourism development and management in the country, including a strong
support for outbound tourism as well as a focus on a greater
distribution of the economic, socio-cultural and environmental benefits
of tourism.
The Outline for National Tourism and Leisure (2013-2020), issued by the State Council of China, focuses on promoting the taking of paid annual leave days and boosting the healthy development of the tourism sector in China, in particular by ensuring the coordination of different sectors.
Where previously cultural norms have stopped many in China from taking an annual leave, the Outline, which reinforces existing Regulations for Paid Annual Leave for Employees, encourages government agencies, social organizations, enterprises and public institutions to promote the use of leave days, giving moreover Chinese workers more freedom and flexibility on the issue of where and when to travel.
“The successful implementation of the new Chinese national tourism strategy will surely impulse both domestic and outbound tourism in China and we particularly welcome the decision to promote travelling at different times of the year” said UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai. “This document calls on a variety of sectors to strategically consider their actions in view of the development of tourism; it is another proof that China fully understands that sustainable tourism growth requires cross-cutting policies at a national level”, he added.

annual team member party to celebrate the Centre’s 2012 successes and
achievements.
Kamel Ajami, Hilton Worldwide country manager – Jordan, joined in the celebrations and congratulated the team for their passion and enthusiasm, care and dedication and effort and hard work – all of which has helped to build KHBTCC into one of the leading convention centers in the Middle East. Ajami also took the opportunity to outline the company’s plans for future development and growth in Jordan for 2013.
One team member, in particular, was singled out for noteworthy attention as Hayat Al Oneh from the Housekeeping department was awarded the honor of Employee of the Year. Others also earned recognition, and honors, for their part in contributing to the success of the business during the last three months.

Chile and Peru Pilot New Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria for Destinations
South America Takes Center Stage, Other Destinations to be Announced Soon

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) has selected the
Cusco-Sacred Valley-Machu Picchu corridor in Peru, and the shores of
Lake Llanquihue, Puerto Varas, and Frutillar in the Lakes Region of
Chile for the second round of its pilot program to test its new Criteria
and Indicators for Destinations. These new Early Adopters are the
first South American destinations to participate.
Overseen by GSTC’s Destination Working Group and managed by NGO partner Sustainable Travel International, the
Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s Criteria for Destinations are
designed to orient destination managers, communities, and businesses
toward the steps that are needed to sustain their natural and cultural
assets, while benefitting local communities. The Destination Criteria
complement the existing GSTC Criteria for Hotels and Tour Operators,
which have become the worldwide sustainability standard for tourism
businesses.
Joined
by a select group of additional destinations to be announced,
destination management organizations in Peru and Chile will help to test
and provide feedback on the Destination Criteria. Early
adoption of baseline sustainable tourism criteria and indicators will
also offer these destinations improved decision-making frameworks,
providing an increased ability to evaluate progress in the sustainable
development of tourism.
“We are pleased to welcome Peru and Chile to the Early Adopter Program,” said GSTC Board Chairperson Kelly S. Bricker, Ph.D. “These two iconic South American destinations are demonstrating true global leadership. We
are confident that this second and final round of our pilot program
will help us continue to incorporate diverse perspectives and improve
the Criteria and Indicators for Destinations for world-wide application through a transparent, collaborative process. “
Sustainable
Travel International’s team will visit each of the Early Adopter
destinations to meet and consult with key stakeholders, including
destination management organizations, the tourism private sector, NGOs,
community leaders, and other government agencies.
Peru
and Chile were chosen for their positive impact on the environment,
their economic and social benefits to communities, and their education
of visitors and residents, among other criteria.
“The
outcomes of the GSTC Early Adopter Program will help us to prioritize
the development of a regional destination sustainability action agenda
for Cusco, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. This is an important first
step for our destination,” said Fernando Santoyo Vargas, Director of
Cusco’s Destination Management Organization.
High-altitude
Cusco receives roughly 80% of visitors to Peru, and the area includes
the city of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the world-renowned Machu
Picchu, a UNESCO Heritage Site and one of the Wonders of the World.
Cultural heritage is a defining characteristic of the region, which
features a collection of Inca ruins and archaeological sites. Cusco was
the capital of the Inca Empire and is one of the oldest continually
inhabited cities in the world.

Located in south central Chile, the central Lakes Region notably features Lago Llanquihue,
the second largest lake in Chile, and the lake resort towns of
Frutillar and Puerto Varas. Tourism is economically vital to the region,
where visitors partake in outdoor recreation like skiing and hot
springs. Tourism is growing steadily across Chile, and the destination
has recently initiated a local sustainable tourism committee tasked with
ensuring that development happens with preservation of local culture,
environment and community needs in mind.
Additional
Early Adopter destinations will be announced in the coming weeks. Once
feedback has been collected and synthesized, the GSTC will develop and
distribute a final version of the Criteria and Indicators for
Destinations.
Vision to Transform Darling Harbour Gets Closer

Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner said it was the second major project milestone in less than a week after the Government signed contracts with Darling Harbour Live and Lend Lease on Friday.
The NSW Government is partnering with Darling Harbour Live – a consortium including global companies Lend Lease, Capella Capital, AEG Ogden and Spotless – to redevelop a 20-hectare precinct at Darling Harbour stretching from Cockle Bay to Haymarket and Ultimo.
“The development is the biggest and most exciting transformation of Darling Harbour in 25 years, and will deliver an estimated $5 billion in economic benefit for NSW,” Mr Stoner said.
“In that sense, this project is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the people of NSW to create one of the world’s best places to live, meet and be entertained.
“The redevelopment of this critical precinct will provide a massive boost to the NSW economy, creating 3,700 jobs during construction and providing ongoing employment for 4,000 people across the precinct.”
“The Government established strong urban design principles to make sure the proposed master plan combined modern facilities, improved public spaces and far better pedestrian connections to build Darling Harbour back into the fabric of the city,” Mr Stoner said.
“The site is just 450m from Central and 700m from Town Hall stations yet the precinct has always felt as though it is disconnected from its Haymarket, and Ultimo and Pyrmont neighbours.
“The master plan creates strong pedestrian links with a north-south boulevard and five new east-west pedestrian connections through the precinct; it better aligns the light rail stops with the entrances to the new facilities to improve pedestrian flow; and offers a cycle hub,” he said.
Darling Harbour Live were announced as the Government’s preferred partners last December. At the time, the NSW Government released the preferred master plan for the precinct following a highly-competitive tender process.
The plan includes Australia’s largest fully integrated convention, exhibition and entertainment facilities; a new hotel of up to 900 rooms; and the development of Haymarket into a cosmopolitan neighbourhood with a mix of shops, cafes and high-tech industry and start-up businesses.
Mr Stoner said Infrastructure NSW, which is managing the project on behalf of the Government, and Darling Harbour Live had consulted prior to the lodgement of the planning applications to inform the master planning.

Kenya Airways To Fly To Guangzhou Via Bangkok Daily
Kenya
Airways has announced the commencement on April 1, 2013 of daily
flights between Guangzhou and Nairobi via Bangkok, boosting the
connections between Africa and China.
The
daily flights will be departing from the airline's hub at the Jomo
Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi at 23:35 Hours local time and
arriving at Bangkok at 13:15 Hours local time. The flight will then
leave Bangkok at 15:05 Hours for Guangzhou arriving at 19:00 Hours.
The
return flights will be through Bangkok as well. At present, Kenya
Airways flies between Nairobi and Guangzhou via Bangkok four times every
week.
Kenya Airways Chief Executive Officer and Group Managing Director, Dr Titus Naikuni,
said "...the daily service from Nairobi to Bangkok and Guangzhou would
be convenient for passengers taking connecting flights to our 48
different African destinations".
"This
will contribute immensely towards sustainable development in Africa by
linking the continent to the Far East," Dr Naikuni added.
China,
which is a key emerging market globally, has been scouting for economic
opportunities in Africa, and the daily flights will facilitate movement
of investors, workers, traders and tourists between the two regions.
The introduction of the daily flights comes at the time the airline is
celebrating 36 years since it made its maiden flight.
The
airline has also introduced three new direct flights between Hong Kong
and Dubai with night time departures. The weekly flights are part of the
new Hong Kong summer schedule for 2013 between March 31, 2013 and
October 26, 2013 which also includes flights from Dubai to Nairobi. The
thrice-a-week flights from Hong Kong to Dubai with extended connection
to Middle East destinations will also strengthen the connection between
Hong Kong and Africa.

Launching the Tourism Industry Council's NSW Tourism Awards at Parliament House, Mr Souris reminded the gathering that the Awards saluted excellence in the NSW tourism industry.
"The tourism and events industry is a key employer across the State. The Tourism Awards acknowledge the work of people in the industry and the quality of experiences and services they deliver.
"The Awards highlight our outstanding operators who strive to constantly improve their product. They also help to grow consumer confidence in the industry by demonstrating a commitment to excellence.

The Great Nundle Dog Race
There are many races to enter such as the House Dog Races, Mongrel Invitation Stakes and Juvenile Canine Mini Stakes. If your dog can jump there is the Doggy High Jump, or if he loves to chase rabbits then you might try him in Stumpy’s Circular Dog Derby. There are great prizes to be won.
The House Dog Race is broken into four height categories. The Mega Mutts run first, measuring 50cm and over, the Mid Mutt race is for medium sized dogs measuring 35 to 49cm, the Minor Mutts which measure 25 to 34cm race together, and the Mini Mutts below 25cm bring up the rear.
The main race is The Great Nundle Dog Race, which is open to bona fide working dogs only. District graziers and station hands pit their pride and joy working dogs against each other to keep the tradition alive of finding the fastest dog.
A barbeque lunch and morning and afternoon tea are available at the ground, and water is available for your dog.
Money raised on the day goes to the Nundle Public School P&C.

Stadium Australia and Newcastle Stadium have been selected as venues for the 2015 Asian
Cup.
“The Asian Cup is one of the biggest events on the International Football calendar and will be hosted by Australia for the first time over three weeks from 9 January 2015 featuring 32 world class football matches with the final to be played in NSW at Stadium Australia,” Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, said.
“Football continues to grow in popularity in Australia and the Asian Cup will provide a wonderful opportunity for NSW to host some of the world’s best players.
“Australia’s performances as a footballing nation have resulted in consecutive World Cup appearances in 2006 and 2010 highlighting the growth and potential of the code,” Mr Annesley added.

Amusement parks possess huge market potential as everyone has

Australians Urged to get Entries in for Tourism Australia's 'Best Jobs In The World' Competition

in the World' have less than a month to apply and submit their 30
second video and convince judges why they deserve A$100,000 to land one
of six dream jobs.
The 'Best Jobs in the World' competition is already proving a big hit with Australians. Australia currently ranks fifth in terms of worldwide applications for the six positions with more than 30,000 Australians having so far expressed interest in the six 'best jobs'.
The most popular job amongst Australians is NSW's Chief Funster, closely followed by Queensland's Park Ranger and South Australia's Wildlife Caretaker. Western Australia's Taste Master, Northern Territory's Outback Adventurer and Melbourne's Lifestyle Photographer are not far behind.
Tourism Australia Managing Director Andrew McEvoy said the response so far from Australians to the competition had been huge, but urged interested applicants to continue to apply and to get their video filmed and submitted before the critical April 10 deadline to avoid missing out.
"We've already seen some fantastic applications from Australians and, based on the huge interest we've already received, there's plenty more to come. We know that many people are taking their time working on their video so no doubt there'll be a last minute rush.
"Just remember though, if you want to win it, you've got to be in it. The closing date is fast approaching and I'd strongly advise people to submit their video application as soon as possible rather than waiting until the last day," he said.

This homestead will be open for public viewing on Sunday 14 April 2013 between 10am and 3pm. The Open Day is being held by Anglo American Metallurgical Coal, who operates a coal mine on the property. Access to Plashett Homestead is via entry to the property on the corner Edderton road and Golden Highway Jerrys Plains. follow the signs to the homestead approx 5 km along dirt road. Enclosed footwear required.
The Plashett Homestead is a single story ashla sandstone building in a simplified Victorian Regency style. It has been built in a number of stages and is currently undergoing further restoration work.
The Homestead also has a large cellar,underground water tank, hot water copper tank and extensive gardens which once included a tennis court.
The history of the property has recently recorded in the book"People, Property, Power, Plashnett Jerry's Plains" by well known Hunter regional historian Cynthia Hunter.
