Thailand Expands Its MICE Horizons: Six New Cities Open Doors to Exciting Business Events

Thailand is expanding its appeal as an international business events destination, with six new cities joining the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau's (TCEB) MICE City network. Krabi, Chiang Rai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Rayong, Ubon Ratchathani and Hua Hin–Cha-am bring fresh opportunities for conferences, incentive travel, corporate meetings and exhibitions across the country.

The expansion increases Thailand's network to 16 MICE Cities, giving event organisers more destinations to consider when planning business events that combine professional facilities with local culture, nature, cuisine and distinctive visitor experiences.

For international meeting planners seeking alternatives to traditional conference hubs, Thailand's expanding MICE network presents new possibilities for memorable events.

What Are Thailand's MICE Cities?

MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Thailand's MICE City initiative supports destinations that offer potential for hosting business events and attracting domestic and international delegates.

Led by TCEB, the initiative promotes Thailand's regional destinations and encourages event organisers to explore opportunities beyond the country's best-known urban centres.

With six additional cities joining the network, planners have a wider range of settings for corporate retreats, association conferences, exhibitions, incentive programmes and regional business gatherings.

Discover Thailand's Six New MICE Cities

Krabi

Krabi: Coastal Scenery and Incentive Travel

Krabi is renowned for its limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, islands and beautiful beaches. Its natural scenery makes it an appealing option for incentive travel, corporate retreats and business events that incorporate outdoor activities and team experiences.

Chiang Rai: Northern Culture and Natural Beauty

Located in northern Thailand, Chiang Rai offers distinctive cultural attractions, mountain scenery, temples and access to the region's rich traditions. It provides an alternative setting for business events seeking cultural immersion and experiences beyond a conventional city conference.

Nakhon Si Thammarat: Southern Heritage and Local Traditions

Nakhon Si Thammarat offers opportunities to discover southern Thai culture, religious heritage, traditional crafts and regional cuisine. Its inclusion in the MICE City network brings additional attention to a destination with potential for culturally focused business travel.

Rayong: Industry, Coastline and Business Connections

Rayon

Rayong combines an important industrial and economic role with coastal attractions and access to eastern Thailand. Its location makes it worth exploring for corporate meetings, industry-related events and programmes that connect business objectives with regional experiences.

Ubon Ratchathani: Northeastern Culture and Festivals

Situated in northeastern Thailand, Ubon Ratchathani is known for its cultural traditions, Buddhist heritage and distinctive festivals. The city offers event planners opportunities to incorporate local identity and regional experiences into business travel programmes.

Hua Hin–Cha-am: Seaside Meetings and Relaxed Retreats

The Hua Hin–Cha-am coastal area offers beaches, resorts, golf and leisure activities, making it an attractive setting for meetings, incentive travel and corporate retreats. Its relaxed atmosphere provides opportunities to combine business sessions with recreation and team-building experiences.

More Choices for International Business Events

Bangkok
The expansion to 16 MICE Cities strengthens Thailand's position as a destination offering a broad range of business event settings. Organisers can consider destinations according to their event objectives, delegate numbers, transport connections, accommodation requirements and desired experiences.

Regional events can also create opportunities for local tourism operators, hospitality businesses, restaurants and cultural attractions, spreading the economic benefits of business travel beyond major metropolitan areas.

For international delegates, adding local experiences to a conference or incentive programme can create a more engaging visit while encouraging further exploration of Thailand.

The St. Regis Singapore Unveils a New Era of Luxury After $44 Million Transformation

The St. Regis Singapore
The St. Regis Singapore has entered a new era of luxury following a $44 million transformation that has refreshed its 299 guestrooms, event spaces and signature dining experiences. The extensive renovation strengthens the hotel’s position as one of Singapore’s leading luxury hotels for discerning travellers, food lovers, MICE events and wedding celebrations.

Located at 29 Tanglin Road beside the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the hotel combines its heritage with contemporary design, sustainability and highly personalised hospitality.

A New Chapter for a Singapore Luxury Icon

The St. Regis Singapore
Since opening in 2008, The St. Regis Singapore has welcomed distinguished travellers, international events and high-level diplomatic engagements. Its renewed appeal has now been recognised through a series of major international hospitality and design accolades.

Condé Nast Traveller named The St. Regis Singapore among its 2026 Triple Crown Awards recipients. The award recognises hotels that have appeared on the publication’s Hot List, Gold List and Readers’ Choice Awards over the past three decades.

The hotel was also awarded 5-Star Best Hotel Interior (Singapore) at the International Property Awards, Asia Pacific Hotel Awards 2026–2027.

Inspired by the Singapore Botanic Gardens

The St. Regis Singapore
The redesign was led by FBEYE International, with Founder and Creative Director Warren Foster-Brown returning to the property, having been part of the original design team in 2008.

The new interiors draw inspiration from the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, creating a stronger sense of place through nature-inspired design, furnishings, artwork, lighting and colour palettes.

The transformation has also earned The St. Regis Singapore and The St. Regis Spa four-star ratings from Forbes Travel Guide 2026. Travel + Leisure ranked the hotel third among Singapore’s Best Hotels in its World’s Best Awards 2026, while The St. Regis Spa was included among the Top 10 Best Hotel Spas in the Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026.

Luxury with a Sustainable Future

The St. Regis Singapore
The renovation incorporates sustainability and technology throughout the guest experience. Motion sensors control blinds and air-conditioning, while in-room water taps provide hot and ambient drinking water, reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles.

Eco-composite flooring incorporates up to 50 percent recycled material, while refillable bathroom amenities replace disposable packaging.

Dining outlets also feature sustainably sourced seafood, cage-free eggs and plant-based options. Food waste is managed through a food digester and automated waste management system.

A Premier MICE and Wedding Destination

The St. Regis Singapore
The transformation extends across all 10 event venues, which together provide more than 14,000 square feet of event space.

The iconic John Jacob Ballroom now features two large LED walls measuring 9.6 metres by 5.29 metres, while its refreshed foyer includes a built-in bar for pre-event receptions.

Caroline’s Mansion provides an elegant setting for intimate celebrations and corporate gatherings, while five refreshed Level One meeting rooms feature upgraded audiovisual technology, coffee stations, an operable bar and networking areas.

For event planners, Marriott International’s Connect Responsibly programme also provides a Meeting Impact Report, helping organisers measure environmental impacts and support sustainability initiatives.

Dining Experiences Add to the Transformation

The St. Regis Singapore
The hotel’s dining offering has been enhanced with three new venues: Sophia, The Tea Room and The St. Regis Bar. Sophia and Yan Ting were recognised in Tatler’s Best Spotlight Restaurants 2026, while Yan Ting was also selected in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2026.

With luxury accommodation, acclaimed dining, refined event facilities and a stronger connection to Singapore’s natural heritage, The St. Regis Singapore’s $44 million transformation positions the iconic property for a new generation of luxury travellers and event guests.

See Perth from a New Perspective on Matagarup Bridge

Matagarup Zip+Climb
Perth is a city shaped by water, wide skies and the outdoors. Visitors usually experience it from the Swan River foreshore, Kings Park, the city streets or perhaps from a boat on the river. Matagarup Zip+Climb offers a considerably higher viewpoint.

Set on the distinctive Matagarup Bridge beside Optus Stadium, the experience combines a true bridge climb, panoramic city views and, for those choosing the full experience, a 400-metre zipline across the Swan River.

The operator calls it "Perth's Ultimate Adventure", and it is certainly a very different way to see the city.

A Bridge Adventure That Starts on the Bridge

Around the world, plenty of ziplines operate near bridges or travel towards them. Matagarup Zip+Climb makes a more specific claim. It describes itself as home to "the world's only zipline from a bridge", because participants climb the actual bridge structure, step onto a launch platform integrated into it and launch directly from the bridge itself.

The full Zip+Climb begins with 314 steps and a guided journey up and through the sweeping arches of Matagarup Bridge. This is not simply a staircase to a lookout. Guests climb steep sections, negotiate beams and make their way through the structure before reaching the glass-floor SkyView platform, 72 metres above the Swan River. From there, Perth opens out below.

There are 360-degree views across the river, the city skyline, Optus Stadium and the surrounding Burswood precinct. It is a familiar city viewed from somewhere most visitors would never normally stand.

Then Comes the Flight

Matagarup Zip+Climb
After time at SkyView, participants descend to the 35-metre zipline launch platform. Then comes the moment that gives the experience its very different finish.

Clipped onto one of the dual ziplines, guests launch from the bridge and travel approximately 400 metres across the Swan River at speeds of up to 75 kilometres an hour. It changes the experience from sightseeing into something much more memorable. The climb gives visitors time to absorb the scale of the bridge and the city around it. The zipline provides a much faster perspective on the same landscape.

Adventure Without Leaving Perth

One of Matagarup Zip+Climb's advantages for travellers is its location. There is no lengthy transfer out from the city. The experience sits on the Burswood Peninsula, beside Optus Stadium and only minutes from central Perth. The precinct also contains restaurants, riverside spaces and Matagarup Mini Golf nearby. That makes it particularly easy to incorporate into a short Perth stay, an event weekend or a day exploring the city.

It also works well for groups. Matagarup Zip+Climb offers private experiences for corporate groups, schools, social clubs, incentive groups and other private bookings. The neighbouring Mini Golf venue means larger groups can also combine adventure with a more relaxed activity in the same precinct.

Choose Your Level of Adventure

Matagarup Zip+Climb
Not every visitor needs to tackle the complete experience. The two-hour Zip+Climb is the full experience, travelling to SkyView before finishing on the 400-metre zipline.

The Express Zip is the shortcut. It takes around 90 minutes, with guests climbing approximately 150 steps to the 35-metre launch platform before taking the same zipline across the river.

For visitors attracted by the climb and views but not the zipline, the 90-minute Bridge Climb travels up and over the bridge via SkyView before returning on foot.

This variety is useful when friends, couples or family members have different ideas about what constitutes a holiday adventure.

Safe by Design. Fun by Nature.

Before setting out, guests receive a safety briefing and are fitted with a full-body harness, helmet and specialised climbing equipment.

Participants remain connected to the safety system throughout the climbing experience, while enclosed rubber-soled footwear is required. Phones and cameras cannot be carried onto the bridge, but souvenir photographs are included with the ticket and provided afterwards.

Matagarup Zip+Climb summarises its approach as "Safe by Design. Fun by Nature."

There are age, height, weight, fitness and medical participation requirements, so travellers should check these before booking. The full experience currently has a minimum age of eight years, minimum height of 120 centimetres and minimum weight of 30 kilograms.

Put Perth in a Different Perspective

Matagarup Zip+Climb
Cities are often remembered through particular moments rather than a checklist of landmarks. Standing 72 metres above the Swan River while Perth stretches away around you is one of those moments.

Launching from the side of the bridge and travelling across the river is another. For visitors looking to put something genuinely different between Perth's beaches, restaurants, riverfront and city attractions, Matagarup Bridge provides an adventure that is unmistakably connected to its location.

Climb the bridge. Take in the view. Then, if you are ready, take the fast way back down.

Matagarup Zip+Climb

Experiences: Zip+Climb, Express Zip, Bridge Climb and private group experiences.
Duration: Approximately two hours for Zip+Climb and 90 minutes for Express Zip or Bridge Climb.
Prices: Current advertised prices start from $165 for Zip+Climb, $119 for Express Zip and $99 for Bridge Climb. Check current prices and availability when booking.
Location: Northern end of Camfield Drive, Burswood Park, Burswood, Western Australia.

Precinct Flex Auckland and Wellington: Flexible Meeting Rooms and Event Venues Across New Zealand

Precinct Flex
Businesses planning meetings, conferences, workshops and networking events in New Zealand can find flexible, professionally supported spaces at Precinct Flex Auckland and Wellington. With central business district locations, contemporary workspaces and event facilities for different group sizes, Precinct Flex offers an alternative to traditional conference venues and fixed office arrangements.

Precinct Flex was one of the exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, New Zealand’s business events trade show held in Auckland in June. Its participation showcased flexible venue options for organisations seeking convenient locations, professional services and adaptable spaces for business gatherings.

Precinct Flex Auckland: Meetings in the Heart of the City

Precinct Flex Britomart Place
Precinct Flex operates five locations in premium Auckland central business district areas, each with its own atmosphere and character. Businesses can choose from flexible workspaces, permanent desks, hot desks and meeting rooms, depending on their needs.

For event organisers, selected Auckland venues can accommodate gatherings of up to 500 people. The spaces can suit everyday business meetings, workshops, presentations, networking functions and larger corporate events.

Precinct Flex can assist with venue arrangements, catering, information technology and professional event support. Having these services available through one provider can help simplify planning and create a polished experience for attendees.

A central Auckland location also makes it easier for business visitors to connect with the city’s commercial district, restaurants, accommodation and transport links.

Precinct Flex Wellington: Flexible Spaces for Business Events

Bowen Campus
In Wellington, Precinct Flex operates two central business district locations at Bowen Campus and Waring Taylor Street. These venues offer flexible workspace and meeting options for organisations seeking a professional setting in New Zealand’s capital.

Selected Wellington spaces can accommodate events of up to 120 people, making them suitable for team meetings, workshops, presentations, client gatherings and networking occasions.

The service combines the venue with practical support, including catering and information technology arrangements. Event organisers can discuss the most suitable space, layout and services for their particular requirements.

A key advantage is that businesses do not need to be Precinct Flex members to access event and meeting spaces. This makes the venues an option for companies visiting Wellington, project teams needing temporary facilities and organisations arranging occasional events.

Flexible Workspaces for Modern Businesses

HSBC Tower
Beyond event venues, Precinct Flex provides coworking facilities and flexible desk arrangements in Auckland and Wellington. These options can suit freelancers, growing businesses, travelling professionals and organisations that need workspace without committing to a conventional long-term office.

Hot desks provide flexibility for occasional use, while permanent desk options can offer a more consistent working base. Meeting rooms allow teams to bring colleagues and clients together in a professional environment when required.

For businesses operating across multiple cities, access to flexible workspaces can make it easier to arrange temporary offices and meetings in central locations.

Professional Support from Planning to Event Day

Pipiri Lane
Choosing a venue involves more than selecting a room. Technology, catering, atmosphere, location and support can all influence the success of a business gathering.

Precinct Flex offers an integrated approach, helping organisers identify an appropriate space and coordinate practical requirements. Before booking, event planners should confirm availability, seating arrangements, maximum capacity, catering options, audiovisual facilities and pricing directly with the relevant location.

Mr D’z, Kingman (photo credit An Pham)
Arizona is a destination where spectacular desert landscapes, historic highways and distinctive Southwestern flavours combine to create an unforgettable culinary adventure. From traditional barbecue and locally inspired dishes to classic American pies and nostalgic ice cream stops, Arizona’s food scene offers travellers plenty of reasons to explore beyond the major attractions.

With a rich agricultural heritage, locally sourced ingredients and innovative chefs bringing fresh ideas to traditional recipes, Arizona has established itself as an exciting destination for food lovers. For visitors seeking scenic drives, regional specialities and memorable dining experiences, the state offers a delicious journey through the heart of the American Southwest.

Discover Arizona’s Distinctive Southwestern Flavours

vibrant food culture
Arizona’s culinary identity reflects a blend of Indigenous food traditions, Mexican influences and classic American cooking. This combination has created a vibrant food culture featuring ingredients such as chillies, corn, beans, mesquite and locally grown produce.

Traditional Southwestern dishes offer travellers an opportunity to experience the region’s cultural heritage through food. Mexican-inspired meals, freshly prepared tortillas, smoky grilled meats and chilli-infused specialities feature prominently on menus throughout the state.

Arizona’s agricultural communities also contribute to its dining appeal, with seasonal produce, regional ingredients and farm-to-table restaurants providing fresh interpretations of Southwestern cuisine.

Explore the Flavours of Iconic Road Trips

Beeline Cafe
One of the most enjoyable ways to discover Arizona’s culinary attractions is by combining a road trip with stops at local eateries, independent restaurants and historic roadside businesses.

The state’s scenic highways connect travellers with small towns, distinctive landscapes and dining experiences that often become highlights of a holiday.

Classic American diners remain an appealing choice for visitors seeking generous breakfasts, traditional comfort food and homemade desserts. A slice of freshly baked pie makes an ideal reward after a morning spent exploring historic towns or travelling through Arizona’s desert scenery.

For a nostalgic experience, follow sections of historic Route 66, where traditional roadside stops, old-fashioned diners and ice cream parlours capture the spirit of the great American road trip.

These establishments offer more than a meal. They provide opportunities to meet local people, discover regional stories and experience a familiar part of American travel culture.

Route 66: Ice Cream, Diners and Nostalgia

Historic Route 66
Historic Route 66 is one of the United States’ most recognisable driving routes, and its Arizona section is particularly appealing to travellers interested in combining history, scenery and food.

Towns such as Williams, Seligman and Kingman provide opportunities to explore Route 66 heritage while stopping for casual meals, sweet treats and traditional American hospitality.

Travellers can browse roadside memorabilia, photograph vintage-inspired signs and enjoy an ice cream break before continuing their journey through the striking landscapes of northern Arizona.

The route is particularly well suited to leisurely itineraries, allowing visitors to take their time rather than rushing between major attractions.

Southern Arizona’s Barbecue and Local Flavours

Big Tex Bar-B-Que, Willcox
Southern Arizona offers another perspective on the state’s culinary character. Around Tucson and its surrounding communities, visitors can discover a food culture shaped by desert ingredients, Mexican influences and longstanding regional traditions.

Barbecue is an appealing option for travellers seeking smoky flavours and relaxed dining. Slow-cooked meats, grilled specialities and traditional accompaniments provide satisfying meals after a day exploring the region.

Tucson is also recognised for its distinctive regional food heritage, including the importance of traditional Sonoran cuisine. Travellers can explore local restaurants, neighbourhood eateries and markets to discover how regional ingredients and cultural influences shape Arizona’s food scene.

Make Food Part of the Arizona Adventure

Historic Route 66
Arizona rewards travellers who venture beyond the main tourist attractions and make time for local dining experiences. A carefully planned itinerary can combine spectacular desert scenery, historic communities, cultural attractions and memorable meals.

Visitors should allow time for spontaneous roadside stops, ask locals for recommendations and explore seasonal menus highlighting ingredients grown in the region.

Whether enjoying homemade pie in a traditional diner, sampling Southwestern specialities in Tucson or stopping for ice cream along Route 66, food adds another dimension to discovering Arizona.

For travellers seeking a holiday that combines scenic driving, American heritage and distinctive regional cuisine, Arizona offers an inviting taste of the Southwest.
