For a limited time, Gold Coast holidaymakers can experience a fun and unique 'Animals with Attitude' Sculpture Trail featuring 21 enormous Koalas painted and decorated in various styles. From Wednesday 6 March to Sunday 28 April, these giant creatures will be dotted throughout the city thanks to sponsorship from local businesses and Gold Coast City Council.
Sculptured by John Cox, Gold Coast local and Academy Award recipient for his work on 'Babe' - locals and visitors alike can follow the trail by downloading a map online. All sculptures will be returned to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where they will be auctioned off at a Gala Dinner to raise vital funds for the animal hospital, which receives no ongoing state of federal government funding.
