Bendigo Easter Festival 2013 Highlights

The Bendigo Easter Festival has been in existence since 1870, and is the oldest community festival in Australia that occurs at Easter each year and allows access for all.

The 2013 Bendigo Bank Bendigo Easter Festival will be 4 great days of fun and entertainment from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

Bendigo, in Central Victoria, Australia,  will come alive with activities that will entice and attract all age groups. Many community activities will be held throughout the Bendigo and download the Festival App for up-to-date information.


Good Friday 29 March


Hazeldene’s Family Day
Rosalind Park, Pall Mall
9am - 5pm

Hazeldene’s Family Day will “Embrace Your Senses” in Rosalind Park with loads of family friendly activities to keep you entertained. Rosalind Park’s shady environment will provide the perfect spot for parents to watch their children search for hidden Easter eggs, pet a pig or cuddle a goat, wander along the paths viewing the vintage and classic cars, or engage in musical workshops.

Walk along Bridge Road through to Dai Gum San Chinese Precinct to enjoy the fun of an arts and crafts market, relaxing and enjoying the entertainment along the way!


Easter Saturday 30 March

Bendigo Easter Fair Inc proudly supports Kidzone
Rosalind Park, Pall Mall, Bendigo
10am - 5pm

Come along and meet Papa, Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf, on their adventure of discovery, enjoy some smurf craft activities or a photo with your favourite smurf.

Rosalind Park will also host loads of entertainment, workshop activities, farm animals and fire truck rides. Walk through the Classic and Vintage car display to find the Hidden Creatures in the Fernery; keep a close eye out as you take a walk through this amazing exhibition.

Fire Services Commissioner/CFA Torchlight Procession and Fireworks
Lyttleton Terrace, Queen Street, Mitchell Street, Pall Mall, McCrae Street,
Chapel Street and Bridge Street
From 7:30pm

The Fire Services Commissioner/CFA Torchlight Procession has been a great tradition at the festival for over 100 years.

The procession is your opportunity to say thanks to our emergency service and community heroes. Following the procession a spectacular fireworks display will erupt from the Poppethead over Rosalind Park.

Easter Sunday 31 March


Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade
Lyttleton Terrace, Queen Street, Mitchell Street, Pall Mall, McCrae Street,
Chapel Street and Bridge Street
From 1pm

Come along to the Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade on Sunday and “Embrace Your Senses”. The parade will finish off with a Chinese procession and will amaze you with colourful costumes, dragons and crackers as well as the world’s longest Imperial dragon, Sun Loong.

Activities in Rosalind Park Precincts
There will be lots of other things to do before and after the Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade. Be enthralled with the amazing skills of the Flying Fruitfly Circus, wander through the market and Harley Davidson motorbike display, go on a historic fire truck ride, hunt for hidden creatures, cheer on the runners in the Dragon Mile or be entertained by the roving performers.

Friday 29 - Sunday 31 March


Bendigo Chinese Association Entertainment

Dai Gum San Chinese Precinct,
Bridge Street, Bendigo
From 10am

Come along to the Chinese Spring Festival and Awakening of the Dragon for a fascinating glimpse into Chinese traditions and culture. There will be local and national Chinese performers and lion dancers along with thousands of firecrackers to keep you intrigued.

Carnival Central

Tom Flood Sport Centre car park,
Park Road, Bendigo

Right next door to all the fun and activities of Rosalind Park is the twists, turns, sounds and thrills of the carnival rides.

Pick your favourite viewing spot at Tom Flood Sports Centre and ‘oh aah’ at the Friday night fireworks display to be held at 8pm, thanks to the Victorian Showmen’s Guild.



Easter Monday 1 April


Many community groups will be hosting activities and events throughout the City.

Events such as the Rotary Easter Art Show, Y Service Easter Book Fair, Bendigo Easter Antique Fair, Rotary Club of Kangaroo Flat hole in one competition so, pick up a program, visit the Festival’s website or download the Festival App for up-to-date information.
