Indulge in a Luxurious Winter Getaway with World-Class Music and Fine Dining

This winter, fine music and culture lovers can indulge in a luxury beach getaway in Townsville or on the idyllic paradise of Magnetic Island and attend the prestigious Chefs in the North dinner hosted by Maggie Beer as part of the world-renowned Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM), from 25 July - 3 August.

Celebrating its 23rd year, the Townsville-based festival is recognised as the nation's most prestigious international chamber music event and this year four irresistible travel packages are available to combine the world's finest classical music with a perfect tropical winter escape.

The Australian culinary darling Maggie Beer will return to sunny Townsville to host the sell-out Chefs in the North dinner, the sumptuous prelude to the festival, with a star-studded line-up of Australia's finest chefs creating a delectable feast to complement performances by world-renowned classical musicians.

Together with ABC Classic FM presenter Damien Beaumont, the pair will host the fine food and fine music event of the year, which showcases North Queensland's outstanding local produce accompanied by the best Australian wines over a superb five-course degustation menu on the lawns of Jupiters Townville overlooking Magnetic Island.

"The dates go into my diary the moment they are announced, there is so much to look forward to. The Chefs in the North dinner is such a grand occasion and the camaraderie amongst the chefs makes me envious I'm not actually in the kitchen cooking," said Beer.

"But it's not just the food. What I love most of all is escaping into the festival, which is all about the music and the artists. The memories I have of the last two seasons are absolutely unforgettable, they'll stay with me for life."

The magnificent Chefs in the North dinner under the stars is an unforgettable sensory experience, not to be missed by lovers of food, wine and fine music. Together with the world's best chamber music performances and Townsville's warm winter sun, there is no better escape this July.
