One of the best-loved musicals of all time comes to Tamworth in 2013!
Presented by Tamworth Musical Society, the engaging and dramatic tale of rebellious Maria and the Von Trapp Family has charmed generations. The score includes some of the most memorable songs ever performed on the musical stage, My Favourite Things, Do Re Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, Edelweiss and Climb Every Mountain.
The Sound of Music, the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. This will be an experience of a lifetime and one you will remember when you think of those special memories later in life.
In 2013 the Tamworth Musical Society celebrates 125 years of bringing musical theatre to the city of Tamworth. The Sound of Music, one of the great classic musicals, is the perfect fit to celebrate everything that is wonderful about the magic of live musical theatre. It’s the perfect family treat! Later in the year The Phantom of the Opera will be presented to end the 125th year of presenting musical theatre in Tamworth.
