US television star, Ellen DeGeneres, capped off a whirlwind four-day
visit to Sydney by filming a live show in front of 3000 audience members
at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Celebrities including actor Russell
Crowe, singer Jessica Mauboy and players from the Sydney Swans joined
Ellen during the one-hour program which was filmed at the HANDA Opera on
Sydney Harbour stage.
Destination NSW CEO, Sandra Chipchase, said Ellen’s visit will showcase Sydney to international audiences.
“Her segments filmed over a fabulous Sydney sunshine weekend will be
broadcast around the world and will reveal more of Sydney to a huge
audience, encouraging more visitors to come and explore what Sydney and
NSW have to offer,” Ms Chipchase said.
During the bumper visit, Ellen and wife Portia de Rossi visited Sydney
attractions Taronga Zoo and Manly Beach and dined at chef Matt Moran’s
Chiswick Restaurant.
Ellen travelled to Sydney to film content for the Ellen DeGeneres Show
as part of a partnership with Swisse Wellness and Qantas Airways and
with the support of Destination NSW.
