WORLD'S BEST
Whitehaven
Beach has yet again been named as one of the world's best beaches, with
Trip Advisor's Reader's Choice awards naming the Whitsundays
spectacular beach as number 3 in the world. Whitehaven Beach is a 7km
long, stunning white silica sand beach on deserted Whitsunday Island.
Only accessible by boat or light aircraft, Whitehaven Beach's pure,
pristine natural beauty sees it regularly crowned one of the world's
best beaches.
A lesser known choice for visiting Whitehaven Beach, but
one of the most affordable and spectacular, is a scenic flight from
Airlie Beach with GSL Aviation for as little as $79.GSL Aviation has
also recently introduced a 'Bowen Reef Adventure' - a scenic flight
departing from Bowen (45 minutes north of Airlie Beach) showcasing the
Great Barrier Reef, Whitsunday islands and the picturesque coastline of
Bowen.

NEW SAIL TRAINING FACILITY FOR THE WHITSUNDAYS
Whitsunday Sailing Club |
Port
of Airlie and Whitsunday Sailing Club have joined forces to improve
boating and marine sail training in the region, with a new purpose-built
20 berth marina now under construction. The Whitsunday Sailing Club,
which is located adjacent to Port of Airlie, has been operating its
practical training activities off-site for a number of years due to a
lack of local amenity to cater to the needs of its students. With a new
dedicated marina facility now under way and due for completion later
this year, the club will now base its practical training at Port of
Airlie, within easy reach of its headquarters. Holidaymakers can enjoy a
taste of learning to sail with the Whitsunday Sailing Club's Marine
Training Centre.
