The best of the Sydney Film Festival hits the motorway and heads west
armed with a truckload of hits, highlights and new releases that you’d
never usually get to see at your local cinema. Enjoy our favourite
flicks shown at the 2012 festival, from across Australia and around the
world, screening in the gorgeous surrounds of the Casula Powerhouse
Theatre from 8 – 10 March.
With so much more than just films on offer, you can also expect to
find live shows, workshops and exhibitions – with something to appeal to
every member of the family. We cater to kids, culture and community
too, teaming up with neighbourhoods to show great local product next to
the international hits and the best of arthouse adventures from near and
far.
The Travelling Film Festival has been on the road for nearly 40
years, touring regional Australia showcasing untold amounts of stories,
languages, ideas and experiences to audiences from Alice Springs to
Charters Towers. Mixing up features, docos and shorts sourced from the
world’s great film festivals, it’s our way of taking the world’s best
films to audiences who’d normally have to travel to the city to see
them. Now we reach out to our own backyard with a custom-made collection
of cinema’s finest direct from the city to you. So grab your calendar,
put big red letters on March 8 (it’s the Opening Night Gala) and prepare
for three big days and nights of things to see and do.
