Singapore Airlines Wins Roy Morgan's 2012 International Airline of the Year

Singapore Airlines has won the Roy Morgan Research 2012 International Airline of the Year in their annual Customer Satisfaction Awards held in Melbourne. Singapore Airlines was recognised as the Best International Airline for customer satisfaction a total of 10 months out of the year, more than any other major international airline serving Australia.

Singapore Airlines Senior Manager Marketing and Alliances Australia, Dale Woodhouse, who accepted the award on behalf of the Company, said, "We are delighted to accept this award on behalf of our staff, from those providing exceptional service on the ground to our award-winning cabin crew. Providing our customers with all the care, convenience and comfort they have come to expect from Singapore Airlines remains our core mission.

"As a global airline, we aim to exceed our customer's expectations at every opportunity and to make the journey itself a highly enjoyable experience. This award further reinforces the importance of offering full service travel at great value."

Singapore Airlines was also awarded the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) award for Best Airline International Online in 2012, the fifth year in a row that the Airline has received the honour.

Singapore Airlines celebrated 45 years of service to Australia and the fifth anniversary of the first A380 flight as well as the start of SilkAir services to Darwin in 2012. A total of 17 weekly flights were introduced throughout the year.

Globally, Singapore Airlines' network, including Singapore Airlines Cargo and SilkAir destinations, covers a total of 105 destinations in 39 countries. The Group has 144 aircraft on firm order and planned capital expenditure of S$14.25 billion over the next five years.
