Jeanine, who is influential in the tourism and events
segment, was president of EMBRATUR from 2006 to 2010, where she was also
the Director of Business Tourism and Events. Jeanine is a University
professor, director of Pires & Associados and Chairperson of the
Tourism and Business Board of Fecomércio São Paulo.
“We’re very sorry that Sanovicz is leaving. He’s given us
a huge amount of support since the launch of WTM Latin America, but
we’re sure that Jeanine, with all her experience, will also contribute a
lot to the success of our initiatives”, says Lawrence Reinisch,
Director of WTM Latin America.
"WTM is today the most important commercial event in the
travel and tourism sector. Its Latin American edition is an opportunity
for bringing important buyers from all over the world to establish and
strengthen business on this continent. This is an event that’s totally
different from anything the Brazilian and Latin American markets have
ever seen”, guarantees Jeanine. “Presiding over the Board of WTM Latin
America is an opportunity to learn and at the same time share opinions
that can contribute to the success of the event and to the travel and
tourism market in Brazil and Latin America", she adds.
The Advisory Board consists of important leaders from the
tourism, leisure, MICE and corporate sector areas and has the support
of the country’s important corporate entities, which creates a synergy
that is rarely capitalised upon in MICE and corporate tourism.
Also on the Advisory Board are Elizabeth Wada, Director
of the Anhembi Morumbi University, who has huge experience in the hotel
and tourism area; Giancarlo Gerli, Director of ABDIB (Brazilian
Association of Infrastructure and Base Industries); Luciane Leite,
Director of Tourism and Entertainment for São Paulo Tourism; Luiz Moura,
Director of Brand USA for Latin America; Mercês de Villemor,
Coordinator of Fairs at FIESP; Orlando Souza, Director of Marketing at
TURSP (Empresa Paulista de Turismo); Pablo Sismanian, Coordinator of
Meeting Tourism for Improtur, Argentina’s official tourism body, and
president of the Latin American chapter of ICCA (International Congress
and Convention Association); Toni Sando, Managing Director of the São
Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Viviânne Martins, Director of the Corporate Travel Academy.
The first meeting of the Advisory Board took place on
March 27 and the second took place on Tuesday, August 7. More
