Tiger Airways Australia Celebrates Flying 10 Million Passengers

Tiger Airways
Tiger Airways Australia is celebrating carrying its 10 millionth passenger since its first flight took off on 23rd November 2007 and is marking the occasion with a $10 Super Fare Sale on some of its most popular routes.

Local Mackay resident Donna Marie Olsen is Tiger's lucky 10,000,000th passenger who will be presented with a $1,000 Tiger travel voucher when she checks in for her Mackay to Melbourne flight today with her two young children (flight TT 383 departing Mackay at 11:15am and arriving into Melbourne at 3:10pm).

Tiger Airways Australia's Commercial Director, Carly Brear, said "Tiger's presence brings healthy competition and local economic benefits to Australia. 10 million passengers is a significant achievement. We would like to thank everyone who has chosen to fly Tiger to date. Our $10 sale is one way we can give back to our growing fan base and perhaps get those who haven't tried Tiger before to do so.

In the past few weeks Tiger Airways has announced the impending launch of a number of new routes including Melbourne - Sunshine Coast, Sydney - Cairns and the airline's eagerly awaited return to Alice Springs from both Melbourne and Sydney.

Last Friday the airline celebrated the commencement of inaugural services from Sydney to Coffs Harbour.

"We're delighted 10 million people have chosen to fly with us to date here in Australia. Our focus remains on balancing great value airfares with strong customer service," said Ms Brear.

The latest independent research from Roy Morgan[1] (for the quarter to September 2012) has shown a significant improvement in overall customer satisfaction.

Further, in recent months the airline's enhanced focus on punctuality and on time performance has coincided with an improved online customer engagement platform and the recent transition to a new customer call centre at the beginning of February (new call centre commenced from 01 February 2013).

"We're an airline that continues to expand based on customer demand. Our goal now is to become the airline of choice for both value and service for the next 10 million passengers that we hope get the opportunity to fly with Tiger," concluded Ms. Brear.
