West Kowloon Bamboo Theatre 2013

10 craftsmen took 2 weeks to build this theatre made entirely from bamboo.

Built especially for this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations, the theatre can house up to 800 people!

Star-studded Cantonese opera performances in a traditional venue made of bamboo will be the highlight feature of the West Kowloon Bamboo Theatre; but you will also have the chance to enjoy a series of programmes including Cantonese opera shows by young performers, Chinese dance by the Hong Kong Dance Company, contemporary music concerts, a Bamboo Theatre Fair and an exhibition featuring the winning design of the future Xiqu Centre.
