The free, all-ages event will set the stage for BASSINTHEGRASS – the Northern Territory’s biggest and longest-running music festival – which takes over Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach on Saturday, 17 May 2025.
BASSINTHECITY will transform the vibrant street art haven of Austin Lane into an open-air celebration of music and youth culture, headlined by Kah-Lo, along with Australian DJ Taste Club (Tim Benson), Darwin singer-songwriter Prayer Corby, and standout local talent from the Territory Artist Competition.
Best known for her hit ‘Fasta’ and Grammy-nominated collaboration with British DJ Riton on ‘Rinse and Repeat’, Kah-Lo is set to deliver an electrifying dance party ahead of the Territory’s most anticipated music event.
Kah Lo said: “I am excited to be performing at BASSINTHECITY a few days before hitting the seaside stage at BASSINTHEGRASS in Australia’s Top End.”
Returning in 2025, the Territory Artist Competition offers local musicians a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform alongside leading Australian and international acts at BASSINTHEGRASS.
This year, one live act and for the first time, one DJ, will be selected to open BASSINTHEGRASS’ Palm Stage and BASSment Stage, respectively.
Winners will also get the chance to perform a teaser set at BASSINTHECITY, on the same stage that will feature Kah-Lo, in a high-energy warm-up to the main event.
BASSINTHECITY is more than just a music event – it’s a uniquely Territorian cultural experience. The evening will feature interactive installations, including the Wish Upon a Jellyfish Weaving Workshop led by acclaimed artist Aly de Groot, as well as an eclectic selection of market stalls highlighting local artisans and curators.
Supported by Santos, BASSINTHECITY adds to a jam-packed week of entertainment for locals and visitors alike – including two AFL clashes featuring the Gold Coast SUNS on Saturday, 10 May 2025 and Thursday, 15 May 2025.
Final release tickets for BASSINTHEGRASS are on sale now for $155 + booking fee. Guests can upgrade their festival experience with premium packages including ReFresh, Oasis, and the family-friendly BASS Camp.
