Thailand’s Wellness Renaissance: Global Buyers Embrace the Healing Heart of Asia

2025 Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Trade Meet
Bangkok Hosts the 2025 Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Trade Meet

In a powerful statement of intent to lead the global wellness tourism sector, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted the Amazing Thailand Health & Wellness Trade Meet 2025 at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton in Bangkok. This one-day event brought together 100 international buyers and more than 50 Thai wellness businesses in a dynamic showcase of Thailand’s diverse, integrative, and high-quality health and wellness offerings.

The gathering served as both a business platform and a cultural exchange, allowing guests from across the world to discover why Thailand is fast becoming a global hub for holistic well-being and medical travel.

A Strategic Vision for Experience-Led Tourism

Mrs. Chiravadee Khunsub, TAT’s Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa), opened the event by reaffirming TAT’s mission to position Thailand as a premier wellness destination. She highlighted how this initiative aligns with the broader Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, which champions quality tourism grounded in experience, sustainability, and high-value travel.

With growing demand for travel that restores the mind and body, Thailand is capitalising on its deep-rooted healing traditions, advanced medical facilities, and globally respected hospitality.

Global Insights and Wellness Wisdom

The trade meet began with a market update from TAT, followed by an inspiring keynote titled ‘Wellness Hub Thailand’, delivered by Dr. Tanupol Virunhagarun, CEO of BDMS Wellness Clinic and BDMS Wellness Resort. He painted a compelling picture of Thailand’s readiness to emerge as one of the world’s top five wellness destinations, citing government policy, international healthcare standards, and a rich cultural foundation in integrative wellness.

Dr. Tanupol noted that global travellers are increasingly drawn to destinations offering preventive health, lifestyle medicine, and immersive wellness experiences — areas in which Thailand excels.

Hands-On Healing and Holistic Connections

Attendees experienced the essence of Thai wellness firsthand through curated workshops that included crafting herbal inhalers, preparing healthy snacks, and learning elemental self-care techniques based on Thai traditional medicine. These interactive experiences offered a taste of the authenticity and depth behind Thailand’s wellness identity.

In the afternoon, Thai businesses presented a comprehensive range of offerings — from hospital-based health screenings to rejuvenating spa programs and luxury retreats. Renowned brands like Chiva-Som, Kamalaya, Sri Panwa, RAKxa Integrative Wellness, and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya showcased the strength and diversity of Thailand’s wellness ecosystem.

Wellness Tourism with a Purpose

To deepen engagement, TAT organised familiarisation trips before and after the trade meet, allowing buyers to explore wellness destinations across Thailand. These journeys spanned the vibrant capital to coastal sanctuaries, immersing visitors in real-world experiences that reflect the future of health-driven travel.

Wellness travellers represent a high-value market segment, spending on average over 100,000 Baht per trip. By targeting this demographic, Thailand is not just expanding its tourism offerings — it is reshaping its tourism structure to prioritise sustainability, well-being, and quality over volume.

A Global Hub for Health, Harmony and Hospitality

The 2025 trade meet was more than a business gathering; it was a statement of Thailand’s ambition and potential. With a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern care, the country is positioning itself at the intersection of luxury, wellness, and purpose — a destination where healing becomes part of the journey.
