The Lodge Wadjemup unveils new Poolhouse rooms with bookings available now, for stays from July

Lodge Wadjemup
The highly anticipated new build Poolhouse rooms and guest Pool Area at The Lodge Wadjemup has today been unveiled, marking the completion of the accommodation aspect of the multi-faceted development.

Featuring high ceilings, large and innovative living space and the choice of Lake, Pool or island views, the 46 new rooms offer a perfect retreat for couples, families and groups to enjoy. The new offering complements the 63 refurbished Courtyard and Lake rooms which have been welcoming guests since January, providing a much-needed boost to Rottnest Island’s accommodation capacity (109 rooms total)

Speaking on behalf of the owners, Peter Fogarty said the rooms have been thoughtfully designed to reflect the uniqueness of Wadjemup and island life.

“The Lodge Wadjemup project has been undertaken by a group of West Australian families, so catering to the needs of those travelling in groups and with children is reflected in the design and functionality of the accommodation offering,” Mr Fogarty said.

“The interior design, which was led by my daughter Anna, is characterised by natural, sustainable materials and textures that echo the surrounding landscape.

“The majority of rooms have the ability to interconnect, which means six guests can easily be accommodated in rooms of up to 59 square meters of living space, plus balconies.

“We’ve been elated by the positive feedback from guests who’ve stayed on-site since we opened the refurbished rooms in January, as well as being recogised as the only Australian hotel on TIME’s ‘World’s Greatest Places 2025’, so presenting the stunning new Poolhouse rooms and Pool area is the icing on the cake to a very exciting past six month.”
Mr Fogarty finished.

The Poolhouse precinct is located on the edge of Rottnest Island’s Garden Lake and nestled in the northern part of The Lodge Wadjemup grounds, with easy access to the on-site hospitality venue, Sunsets Bar & Dining. Integrating seamlessly with Rottnest Island’s coastline and historic character, the minimalistic yet inviting interior design utilises sustainable materials that evoke a coastal feeling throughout. All rooms come with King beds and fully appointed ensuites as standard, some with standalone baths. Located at the heart of the space is the Guest Pool, with clean lines and open walkways leading to a 12-meter adult pool and 5-meter kid’s pool.

The Lodge Wadjemup General Manager Jeremy Nordkamp said the completion of the fresh and contemporary new rooms mark a new chapter for The Lodge Wadjemup.

“We’re so excited to unveil the 46 new build Poolhouse rooms and Guest Pool, bringing The Lodge Wadjemup’s accommodation offering to a total of 109 rooms,” Mr Nordkamp said.

“What we’re offering guests is a new level of hospitality on Wadjemup/ Rottnest Island, an elevated guest experience for couples and family-travellers, with pools heated to an inviting 28 degrees and poolside food and beverage service to complement the incredible hospitality on offer at Sunsets and Pelican.

“Rottnest Island is synonymous with summer, but The Lodge Wadjemup has been thoughtfully designed to offer an incredible tourism experience any time of the year.

“With inclusions such as in-room heating and the heated pool, as well as heated flooring, multiple fireplaces, bi-folds to enclose the space and a Winter event series at Sunsets – The Lodge Wadjmeup is the perfect place to retreat even when the weather is cooler.

“We have a variety of fantastic winter packages available to book via our website, with special offers such as Midweek Moments where guests can stay for three nights and pay for two, the Family Winter Escape package where kids stay and dine for free, and options ideal for couples offering incentives such as a late check out, a shared menu at Sunsets, movie tickets, WA wine and a cheese platter to enjoy and more.

“The hardest decision guests will have to make is whether they’d like a view of the Lake, Pool or island view?”
Mr Nordkamp finished.

July 1 also marks the completion of The Gathering Ground - a dedicated space that acknowledges the important cultural history of the Island where guests, island visitors and tour operators are welcomed and able to meet, start a tour, or to just relax and take in the natural surrounds; and a Conference Venue (120 pax banquet style; 200 pax cocktail). Function enquiries can be made via the website. Visit www.thelodgewadjemup.com to find out more and to book your next stay.
