Due to Gifu’s heavy winter snows, the 115km-long Shogawa River is one of Japan’s most breathtaking winter scenes, especially as it winds through the famous Shogawa Gorge, from the historic Komaki Dam to the picturesque, Edo-era Omaki Onsen.
