A giant and legend of the arts; the Pulitzer Prize winning composer not only changed the musical theatre landscape forever, but he also helped forge it. Sondheim both set and raised the bar of what is possible within the artform.
Ranging from the beloved to the obscure, the carefully selected two-dozen songs delve into Sondheim's work in way that will both entertain and fascinate. Sondheim works featured are from 19 Sondheim shows including West Side Story, Company, Sunday in the Park with George, Merrily We Roll Along and Into the Woods.
With a live on-stage orchestra and through the use of exclusive interview footage, take a look inside the life and artistic process of an irreplaceable force with an all-star cast, including Anton Berezin, Rhonda Burchmore, Fiona Choi, Peter Coleman-Wright AO, Amy Lehpamer, Ainsley Melham, Anna O’Byrne, Josh Piterman, Katrina Retallick and Rowan Witt.
Directed by the extraordinary Tyran Parke, Sondheim on Sondheim will be a funny, affectionate, and revealing tribute to musical theatre’s greatest composer and lyricist.
