Karato Fish Market

Enjoy fresh and affordable sushi, seafood bowls, and all kinds of pufferfish dishes offered by merchants at Karato Fish Market during the “Ikiiki Bakangai” which happens on weekends!

The market specialises in fresh seafood, including puffer fish, and local products of Shimonoseki.

Outside the market, you can see the Kanmon Bridge and the Kanmon channel spanning the horizon; the fishing ships coming and going from the wooden deck, giving this market a vibrant feel.
