The move comes as part of a programme aimed at elevating Quang Binh tourism, expanding the local tourism market, as well as preparing for the locality to receive international tourists in the near future.
The film crew consists of six members led by producer Theo Webb, production and logistics members from both the United States and UK, and photographer Ryan Deboodt, who has captured images of Son Doong and Quang Binh caves over the years.
The event also hopes to promote Quang Binh as a safe, attractive, and different destination in the Southeast Asian region with the film aiming to reach 500 million viewers globally.
This effort is also part of the province’s wider plan to reboot the local tourism industry as the country moves into the new normal, particularly with the international tourism market anticipated to reopen in the near future.
Last year, Quang Binh tourism was honored by many prestigious international travel magazines, including AFAR of the US listing Phong Nha – Ke Bang, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the central province of Quang Binh, among its 39 best destinations to visit in 2022.
Furthermore, Ho Khanh's Homestay was also named as one of the best accommodation establishments in Southeast Asia by Lonely Planet.
