'Only On Airbnb' campaign shines (blue) spotlight on Brisbane

Brisbane is being showcased to a global audience thanks to a new campaign launched this week by Airbnb with the iconic Australian hit television show, Bluey.

One family will be able to stay in a Brisbane home that has been lovingly recreated to bring the cartoon to life, offering a unique chance to experience Bluey’s (and Brisbane’s) lifestyle. The campaign has resulted from a partnership between Airbnb and @BBCStudio.

TEQ has worked with Airbnb to boost exposure for Brisbane and Queensland through our blog, social and website channels, including this article.

On a leafy street in the heart of Brisbane, something magical has happened... the Heeler home from Bluey’s world has been recreated – for real life!

Brace yourself for a weekend of family games and make-believe, in a home featuring Bluey and Bingo’s colourful bedroom, toy-packed playroom and lush backyard - complete with trampoline!

The house will be available to book at 8AM AEDT on Feb 15 for a two-night stay from Feb 18-20, for 2 adults and 2 children who must be residents of Australia.

The space
From the moment you step on to the front lawn, you’ll be transported to Bluey’s vibrant world, spotting familiar touches like the red letterbox, bone-adorned chimney and iconic bay window.

Inside, discover rooms re-imagined with a breezy Mid-century modern aesthetic coupled with playful pops of colour. The girls’ playroom, with its signature rainbow canopy, kiwi rug and numerous toys - including Bluey’s beloved Chattermax toy and Magic Xylophone - is the ultimate setting for creative play.

Kids can stay overnight in Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom, snuggling down for sleepytime in two single beds beneath a custom stained-glass window, surrounded by colourful hanging lanterns, cloud cushions and, of course, a hand-crafted watermelon rug. Once the putdown’s done, and the kids are tucked up with Bingo’s floppy and Grey Dancer, parents can retreat to Bandit and Chilli’s airy and plant-filled master bedroom – complete with queen-sized bed, rattan furnishings and neutral tones.

Escape to the backyard and you’ll find a verdant oasis for family games – like Horsey Ride and Keepy Uppy - with a BBQ, kids’-sized trampoline, Grannies’ car, custom toadstool seats and bespoke dog garden gnomes (Gerald’s there – but alas, no Hecuba).

After all that exploring, head to the kitchen stocked with yummy treats; including Magic Asparagus, plenty of fruit (Bluey’s favourite!) and Bandit’s famous duck cake!

Guest access
The home's front entrance has 16 steps and there are 2 back steps at the rear entrance. Please note there is a slight step to the bathroom and doorways are narrow. Guests with specific accessibility needs are invited to contact the Host for more information. Accessible accommodations can be made if required; these will need to be pre-arranged in advance.

Other things to note· A game of musical statues to the Bluey theme song recommended on arrival.
· Please keep sticky geckos off the ceiling.
· Be sure to take some adventurous snaps with Bob Bilby.
· No pets allowed - especially emus named Shaun.
· Maximum two adults and two children can stay at the house for the weekend stay.
· For safety reasons, it is recommended children aged 4+ sleep in the single beds in the girls' room.
· A cot can be provided for younger guests.
