Explore More, Discover Deeper: SeaLink Unveils Bold New Eco and Cultural Adventures at ATE 2025

Captain Cook Cruises
Connecting Australia’s Icons Through Unforgettable Journeys

SeaLink Marine & Tourism has revealed a powerful new wave of travel experiences at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2025 in Brisbane, spotlighting fresh adventures, sustainability milestones, and immersive Indigenous-led tours across the country.

With a network spanning six states and territories, SeaLink continues to lead the way in marine and regional tourism, offering unique ways to explore Australia's breathtaking landscapes, coastal gems, and vibrant cultural heritage.

New Ferries and Tours Elevate Kangaroo Island Travel

Kangaroo Island will welcome two new purpose-built ferries—Wanggami and Ruwi—in 2025, offering increased passenger and vehicle capacity with enhanced accessibility. These state-of-the-art vessels are part of a $57 million investment, reinforcing SeaLink’s commitment to better connecting travellers with this pristine destination.

Travellers can now take advantage of daily departures and expanded day and multi-day tour options, showcasing the island’s spectacular coastline, local produce, and rich wildlife through award-winning, eco-certified experiences.

Celebrate 55 Years of Captain Cook Cruises in Sydney

To mark over half a century on the water, Captain Cook Cruises is celebrating with a year-long series of premium events, including signature dinner cruises, sightseeing sails, and giveaways throughout 2025.

For those visiting during Vivid Sydney, SeaLink's luxury vessel The Jackson will offer unrivalled views of the city’s dazzling light installations. Guests can enjoy curated cocktails, locally inspired menus, and elegant Harbour cruising from the deck of Sydney’s most sophisticated floating venue.

Deeper Cultural Connections with New Indigenous Tours

Kangaroo Island (Ngarrindjeri Country): Guests can now embark on a full-day cultural tour led by Ngarrindjeri elder Mark Koolmatrie, featuring sacred Dreamtime stories, bush tucker, and an immersive look at traditional healing knowledge.

North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah): A soon-to-launch tour invites guests to connect with Quandamooka culture through storytelling, didgeridoo, and dance with guide Matt Burns, sharing the legacy of his ancestors through language, art, and performance.

Illumina on K’gari (Fraser Island): This permanent night-time projection show continues to captivate audiences with its fusion of light, storytelling, and natural surroundings. Each evening delivers a different experience in response to the island’s weather and wildlife.

Adventure and Ecotourism Thrives in the Whitsundays and Beyond

Red Cat Adventures has added new tours to its growing portfolio, offering thrilling fast boat and catamaran day sails to Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef, including reef conservation education.

Whitsunday Jetski Tours, another SeaLink favourite, provides adrenaline-packed or leisurely rides through the Whitsundays, guided by experts who highlight the natural and marine beauty of the reef.

Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) day tours are available in North Queensland, giving snorkelers the chance to explore the dramatic Ocean Sentinels sculpture trail and learn about reef protection first-hand.

In Perth, SeaLink’s popular Swan River cruises are now running wine dinner sailings twice a week, with a new high tea option offered on the Fremantle route for a leisurely riverside indulgence.

National Commitment to Sustainability and Eco-Certification

SeaLink’s Queensland operations—including Red Cat Adventures, Whitsunday Jet Ski Tours, and K’gari/Kingfisher Bay Resort—have received Eco and Advanced Ecotourism Certifications. The brand also leads sustainability efforts nationwide, from marine debris programs on Rottnest Island to Seabin installations in Sydney Harbour, reinforcing its role as a champion of responsible tourism.

ATE 2025 Showcases SeaLink’s Expansive Vision
