Winter at Mt Buller 2014

Visitors to Mt Buller this season can enjoy a completely revamped Village Square Plaza (formerly Cow Camp Plaza), which has undergone a major renovation to double the seating and dining capacity of this popular day visitor facility.

Also new this winter is the Mt Buller Sculpture Park Walk, a diverse collection of sculptural pieces dotted throughout the Mt Buller Village which are on display year-round.

Mt Buller has completed the automation of its snowmaking infrastructure on the northern side of Bourke St, following the purchase of 6 new snowmaking guns. These new guns will produce 8 times more snow than the previous guns they replaced. The 5 original snowmaking guns have been relocated to the Baldy and Kofler's areas, significantly improving the reliability of snow conditions on these parts of the mountain. Various works to lift infrastructure have been undertaken over the summer; skiers and boarders can enjoy improved access from the North Side precinct down to the Village this winter, with the installation of a new mid-load on the Tirol T-Bar.

New to 2014 is the 'Mt Buller Walks' app for iPhone and android. Visitors can enjoy informative educational audio tours of Mt Buller's iconic walks including the Gnome Roam, Mt Buller Sculpture Park walk and the Summit Nature Walk.

Director of Marketing Sales and Business Development for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, Amber Gardner, is looking forward to the opening of the 2014 snow season. “There's a range of on and off snow activities and events to keep everyone entertained, including ski and snowboard lessons, snowshoeing tours, movies at the cinema, scenic helicopter flights, kids' activities and much more.”

“The launch of the newly renovated public day facility is part of our plan to continuously improve the visitor experience. We're looking forward to seeing people enjoy the extra seating capacity, cosy fireplace and new look and feel.”

The Mt Buller Village is located right in the heart of the snowfields, featuring 7,000 on-mountain beds ranging from basic to luxurious accommodation and more than 30 retail outlets, cafes and restaurants. The resort features the largest lifting capacity in Victoria, with 22 lifts servicing over 300 hectares of skiable terrain.
