The picturesque Victorian resort will host its fifth "Taste of Sorrento", an event is aimed at foodies who appreciate a unique food experience, on the last weekend in May and the start of June,
Sorrento Portsea Chamber of Commerce, who receives sponsorship from Tourism Vic, Mornington Peninsula Shire and Searoad Ferries, coordinates this boutique and gourmet food experience, targeting those that enjoy good quality beer, wine and food.

The program is set to include a variety of gastronomical delights including masterclasses, cooking demonstrations, tutored tastings, degustation and progressive dinners, gourmet menus, winemakers, farmers market & more, all in the heart of Sorrento Village. Starting Thursday evening and continuing throughout the weekend a variety of gourmet lunches, dinners and classes will take place in restaurants, cafes and in the demonstration kitchen in the “Taste” marquee at Three Palms restaurant (154 Ocean Beach Rd).
Taste of Sorrento is proud to host hatted chef from Dandelion Melbourne Geoff Lindsay in 2014. Geoff will host a masterclass and dinner on Saturday 31st May, taking us on a journey through Vietnam. Geoff has a host of awards to his name, including best chef, and his style is both innovative and inspirational. New to the program in 2014, Taste of Sorrento will feature a farmer’s market and “taste” day on Sunday 1 June from 10am to 3pm where producers and provedores put out their best gourmet supplies whilst a series of demonstrations are provided in the Marquee kitchen. Jo Richardson, author of Kitchen Therapist will cook up a storm with her “mastering the basics” demonstration, and will be giving away a KITCHEN AID just for watching her show! There will be pasta making, take three key ingredients, music plus more. This will be a great day for tasting, sipping, listening and indulging in the best that Sorrento and the Peninsula has to offer in food and wine.
Also not to be missed is Phillippa Grogan of Phillippa’s Bakery who will be doing a book signing at the gorgeous Antipodes Bookshop Gallery on Saturday, 31st May at 1pm.
With many more interesting boutique activities all set in a spectacular historic seaside village at only 90 minutes south of Melbourne, Sorrento is the perfect place to indulge the senses.
