The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is lending support to the local authorities in Hua Hin and Ignite Asia Co., Ltd. who are jointly staging the Hua Hin Asia Jazz, another international jazz music event to taking place on the popular Hua Hin Beach, in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, on Saturday, 10 May, 2014.
The biggest names in jazz have confirmed to come to the event to showcase their skills. Local jazz fans and international visitors will be able to enjoy their favourite musicians and singers live on stage while Thai jazz musicians get the chance to show their talents to a large and appreciative new audience.
International names on the programme include The Dan Phillips Quartet from the USA, Richard Jackson, Yuki Makita, Mailow Motif from Singapore, Fried Pride from Japan and Banana Grooves from Lao PDR. Thai jazz artists who will be playing include Koh Mr. Saxman, Pui Duangporn, famous from her appearance on The Voice, and the Vie Trio jazz band.
Mr. Thawatchai Arunyik, TAT Governor said, “The event has the full support of TAT, as we know that it will help to build a good image and confidence in Thailand as a tourist destination, and in line with our campaign Amazing Thailand: It Begins with the People… to promote the kingdom to both local and international tourists.
The bands will take to the stage on Hua Hin Beach in front of the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin from 18.00 hrs. onwards. The event is free but jazz lovers are advised to arrive early to get the best views.
The TAT Governor said, “The nostalgic yesteryear atmosphere of Hua Hin, coupled with modern tourism facilities can be found just a couple of hours drive from Bangkok. This makes the Hua Hin Asia Jazz event perfect for local and international travellers, but especially for true jazz lovers who get the chance to see their favourite musicians play in a beachside setting.”
The seaside town of Hua Hin is around 220 kilometres from Bangkok. The once sleepy fishing port has long been a popular weekend getaway for people living in Bangkok but is now well-known internationally and boasts a wide range of accommodation: from five-star luxury hotel brands to boutique residents and simple guesthouses. The area also offers a great many attractions and activities to enjoy, ideal for anyone seeking a casual break.
