A day with Food Trail Tours, explores tropical World Heritage Wet Tropics Rainforest while discovering what regional food and wine producers have to offer. This unique Atherton Tableland's tour takes you through the rainforest and out onto the drier, fertile plains of the region's food bowl.
The tour visits rainforest at Lake Barrine and the Curtain Fig tree before travelling off the beaten track, (OR “off the beaten path,”) for paddock to plate experiences. On small farms, you hear the stories behind the regional foods and savour their flavours, while tasting your way across the region.
As well as being Australia's only Tropical Fruit Wine Region, it is the only place in the world where they produce dairy foods, tea, coffee and sugar.
