Scary Movies Under the Stars

Film lovers can settle in for Ghost Cinema at historic Cadmans Cottage, where horror and cult movies are screened outdoors against the eerie backdrop of The Rocks.

The 2026 program includes films ranging from Hocus Pocus and Corpse Bride to The Shining, Get Out, Scream 7, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation and IT. The outdoor cinema experience combines movies with themed snacks and drinks for an atmospheric Halloween night beneath the Sydney sky.

Foodies can head to the Poliakov Vodka Haunted Woods at First Fleet Park and Tallawoladah Lawns, where Halloween-themed food, drinks and creations provide plenty of opportunities to eat, drink and explore.

For those looking for a bigger night, the Poliakov Vodka Main Stage brings free DJ entertainment across the festival, while themed bars add theatrical cocktails served in suitably mad-scientist style, including drinks presented in blood bags and syringes.

The festival transforms the laneways and streets of The Rocks with Halloween installations, roaming entertainment and larger-than-life decorations, creating a distinctive Sydney Halloween atmosphere.

CASA Trick or Drink and the Murder Bar

Adults looking for an interactive Halloween experience can take on CASA Trick or Drink, a cocktail crawl through four themed villages: Zombie Apocalypse, Abandoned Asylum, The Slaughter Bar and The Ouija Bar.

Participants move between the themed locations, completing challenges along the way before earning their drinks. The experience is ticketed and designed for individuals or groups of up to eight people.

Another attraction is the hidden Murder Bar, where visitors can enjoy live music and cocktails in a mysterious setting. The bar adds another layer of theatrical entertainment to a festival already filled with Halloween surprises.

Halloween Market and Free Festival Fun

For a lighter Halloween experience, the Halloween Market offers treats, stalls, roaming characters and live entertainment. Families, visitors and those simply wanting to experience The Rocks after dark can explore the festival atmosphere without needing to book a ticket for the general street festival.

Ghost Festival runs from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, generally from late afternoon into the evening. Festival entry and street entertainment are free, while selected experiences, food and drinks are charged separately.
