Queensland Shows Up For Convene Q Queensland Shows Up For Convene Q

Convene Q continues to attract a diversity and depth of Queensland products and services not typically seen at national and international conference and incentive expos. Convene Q is being held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on July 29.

The latest organisations to confirm that they will exhibit include Visit Logan (Logan City), and Backdrops Fantastic Australia out of Burleigh Heads. They join exhibitors like Destination Ipswich, The Events Centre Caloundra, The Pavilion Function and Conference Centre in Brisbane, Coastal Productions and Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge to ensure the less familiar side of Queensland is well presented.

As well as this, organisers say that many Queensland venues, attractions and bureaux with high profiles in Australia and beyond have also signed up to the show. Among these are Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and many more. One&Only Hayman, in the Whitsundays, will make its first appearance at an exhibition of this sort following its July 2014 opening.

Convene Q director Stu Freeman says it was always an objective of the expo to showcase Queensland in ways not usually seen at a business to business event.

'Obviously it is crucial to have properties such as Palazzo Versace and Stamford Plaza Brisbane updating the market on any developments, offers and incentives they have. However, because many of the buyers at Convene Q will be local executive secretaries and PAs, dedicated corporate meeting planners and association executives it is important to give people new options and ideas.

'Even some of our hosted buyers from other parts of Australia and from New Zealand will be reasonably Queensland savvy and will be expecting to see some real depth at this show.'

Event manager Allyssa Eastaugh says Convene Q will satisfy the needs of time poor executives and meeting planners who want to see a full selection of products and services in one day, under one roof.

'The Convene formula is a tried and true one, where we pack various business, learning, entertainment and networking opportunities into a single working day. At the same time there are opportunities for hosted byers to slightly extend their stay in Queensland, with pre-Convene Q activities.'

With Convene Q still nearly three months away, Eastaugh says a number of extra initiatives will be announced over the next four weeks. 'We are close to finalising, among other things, seminars and an additional networking opportunity for local Brisbane byers.'
