Architectural Firm GDS Architects has got a nod to the building permits of Tower Infinity, an invisible Skyscraper near Incheon Airport at the outskirts of Seoul in South Korea. Though not recognized as the tallest building in the world, 450 meter tall building is the first skyscraper with a cloaking device installed, making it invisible to the human eye in daytime.
Charles Wee of GDS Architects said that they are going to provide the world’s first invisible tower depicting the advanced and innovative Korean technology. He further elaborated on the mechanism of the cloak system. The mechanism of the Invisibility Cloak breakthrough works through the LED mesh bars and 18 weatherproofed cameras that will cover the state of art. These LED and cameras will capture the surrounding views and will project them into the building. Thus where ever you stand in the city either you will see through the building or the building might be partially visible. However, this invisibility phenomenon works only if you see the Skyscraper from the ground level as the air pilots will be able to see it thought the flash warning lights.
The technology firm said, “Instead of symbolizing prominence as another of the world’s ‘tallest and best’ towers, it sets itself apart by celebrating the global community rather than focusing on itself. The tower subtly demonstrates Korea’s rising position in the world by establishing its most powerful presence through diminishing its presence.”
Apart from the invisibility factor, the building boasts of a myriad of aspects to amaze the tourists. As per reports, the skyscraper will have world’s third highest observation deck, shops, restaurants, Movie theatres and a probable water park. An official from the firm said, “We look forward to providing Korea and the World with a completely new model for what it means to be an observation tower.”
