2013 National Day of China falls on October 1. The holiday lasts from October 1 to 7. Due to the pleasant autumn weather this is regarded as a ‘golden week’ for travel, during which tourists may encounter huge crowd especially in some popular destinations!
The National Day is celebrated throughout mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau with a variety of government-organised festivities, including fireworks and concerts. Public places, such as Tiananmen Square in Beijing, are decorated in a festive theme. Portraits of revered leaders, such as Mao Zedong, are publicly displayed.
The Central People’s Government passed the Resolution on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China on December 2, 1949 and declared October 1 as the National Day or Independence Day of China. China, a cultural state and ancient civilization in East Asia, is one of the world’s oldest leading civilizations, consisting of states and cultures dating back more than six millennia.
China, a land of beauty and enthrallment, tempts adventurous travelers all over the world. It has so many outstanding places to visit during a vacation, be it with family or friend. The country’s infinite array of people, captivating natural landscapes, radiant history and culture and mesmerizing destinations are as bewildering as they are bewitching. Though China is rightly proud of its modern cities and economic power, for most travelers, it’s intertwined with the country’s history. There is little surprise that most travelers aim at exploring the best monuments, palaces, and tombs representing China’s long and checkered history.
