23rd Monaco Yacht Show - Luxury Yachting at its Best

The 23rd Monaco Yacht Show kicked off yesterday and the Principality of Monaco will once again have the honour to showcase luxury yachting at its best. Last year’s edition broke the show’s attendance record with 33,000 participants - CEO’s and managers of the leading yacht companies, yacht owners, wealthy customers and owners representatives - and this year’s show is expected to be the same success.

Over 100 of the world’s most significant luxury yachts will be on full display in Port Hercules, either available for charter or being exhibited to promote a shipyards' expertise in new builds.

Highlights of the Show that are not to be missed are:

MYS Captains’ Party - Friday 27 September 2013

The Monaco Yacht Show and the party’s partners invite the captains of the MYS yachts and the managers of the exhibiting companies to the institutional evening party of the MYS, the Captains’ Party. 450 guests will enjoy the party held on the terrace of the magnificent Le Méridien Beach Plaza, Monte Carlo. (On invitation only)

Prix du Design MYS 2013

The Prix du Design has become an annual ritual. Since 2003, the Prix du Design singles out the yacht that has the most innovative, elegant and distinguished design at the Monaco Yacht Show. The superyacht has to be presented by a shipyard. Considering that the world Top 10 shipyards attend the show and the importance for them to promote their expertise in new builds, no doubt the Jury’s choice will be a real challenge.

In 2012, Vertigo sailing yacht received the trophee to award the exceptional work made by the French Designers Philippe Briand and Christian Liaigre (who notably worked on the interior home designs of Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld or Kenzo) for their very first association to Alloy Yachts shipyard.

The Monaco Yacht Club is proud to announce that the new Yacht Club Building – designed by one of the biggest names in architecture – Norman Foster – will be inaugurated in spring 2014. It will include the clubhouse, restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, a pool and a car park with around 150 spaces. Completion of this architectural gem symbolises the Principality’s ambition to confirm its role as the world capital of yachting.
