Tasty Sunshine Coast Trip for Great Outdoors

The Channel Seven travel program, The Great Outdoors is filming a food themed episode in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland this week.

Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) CEO, Steve Cooper said, "We are excited to coordinate and The Great Outdoors program and welcome country singing artist/presenter, Adam Brand to the Sunshine Coast region.

"The Great Outdoors program is returning in a new series, providing terrific exposure and another boost in exposure for the area leading into the summer season."

Freestyle Escape Owner, Martin Duncan believes this promotion is perfect for not only his cooking school but the wider region.

"We have some amazing produce grown locally here on the Sunshine Coast and this this type of coverage will let viewers know who we are and highlight our cooking school but more importantly the dynamic foodie experience available across the Hinterland."

The Great Outdoors crew will feature the Freestyle Escape Cooking School, Strawberry Fields, Glasshouse Gourmet Snails and general vision of the Montville region. The Fraser Coast region has also been included as part of the shoot.

Mr Cooper said SCDL understands the value of culinary tourism to the region in terms of linking producers, media and food bodies to increase our visitor numbers.

The Great Outdoors will air on Saturday afternoon from mid-September on Channel Seven. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland episode will air approximately mid-October 2012.
