The inaugural Bledisloe Cup Festival logo has been officially
unveiled and the first Festival event revealed by Destination NSW CEO, Sandra
Chipchase, Australian Rugby Union Managing Director and CEO, John O’Neill and
former Wallabies Captain, George Gregan.
The annual Bledisloe Cup Festival is a key component of the ten year Bledisloe Cup deal, where Sydney will host an annual Bledisloe Cup match at ANZ Stadium from 2012 to 2021.
The deal with the ARU was developed by the NSW Government, through Destination NSW, with the first match to be held on Saturday, 18 August at ANZ Stadium.
The logo maintains the tradition of the Bledisloe Cup by featuring the Cup within the design and the coloured ‘dot matrix cup’ highlights the variety of events within the Festival’s program. One of the events on the program is a Rugby Classics Golf Day featuring Classic Wallabies and All Blacks, including former Wallabies Captain, George Gregan.
The NSW Government and the ARU will unveil the Festival’s entire Calendar of Events on Monday, 16 July.
