Athletics Australia
has just selected Sydney Olympic Park as the venue for a range of top athletics
events, including the Sydney Track Classic. This means that Sydney
will play host to Australia’s
finest athletes for the next three years.
Athletics Australia selected a bid by Destination NSW and Sydney Olympic Park Authority to host a number of athletics events over competing interstate bids, awarding Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre hosting rights to:

- The Australian Junior Athletics Championships in 2012, 2014 and 2015
- The Sydney Track Classic in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
