San Diego Offers Free Wi-Fi

Responding to demand from delegates and the meetings and events industry at large, the San Diego Convention Centre is to offer complementary wireless internet connectivity.

The free wifi service will be available in the parts of the venue where delegates tend to gather – the ground-level lobby areas, including Tides Restaurant.

“The needs of our clients and their attendees are always changing, particularly their use of technology which has grown exponentially,” said the venue’s president and chief executive, Carol Wallace. “We are pleased to have worked with Smart City Networks to create a free wifi service that allows customers to stay connected on-the-go.”

Commenting on the service his company is providing the San Diego Convention Centre, Smart City Networks president Mark Haley said: “More people are carrying smart devices that connect to wifi than ever before. We wanted to offer customers visiting the San Diego Convention Centre a wifi service that would enable them to complete their routine tasks, like checking email or surfing the web, easily for free.”

For users with more advanced connectivity needs that require more speed or bandwidth, upgraded wifi options will still be available for purchase.
