Queensland Tops the Charts as Australia's Easter Holiday Favourite

Sunshine State Shines Bright This Easter

Queensland is once again proving why it's a holiday favourite, taking the crown as the most sought-after destination in Australia this Easter. According to fresh insights from Tourism and Events Queensland, 18 per cent of Australians are planning to spend their Easter break in the Sunshine State—more than any other region in the country.

The figures are particularly encouraging for tourism operators, with one in five New South Wales residents and one in ten Victorians set to enjoy an overnight stay in Queensland during the Easter season. The message is clear: Queensland is where the country wants to be.

City Stays and Regional Retreats in High Demand

Major hubs like the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and the Sunshine Coast are leading the way in bookings, but it’s not just the big names drawing attention. Regional Queensland is also stepping into the spotlight, as more travellers seek nature escapes, charming small towns, and off-the-beaten-path adventures.

From tropical islands to outback getaways, the diversity of Queensland's landscapes is playing a key role in this Easter boom. Visitors are eager to reconnect with nature, experience local culture, and unwind in destinations that offer both relaxation and discovery.

Tourism Recovery in Full Swing

Following recent weather events that challenged parts of the state, Queensland’s tourism industry is bouncing back with strength and resilience. Operators across the state are ready to welcome the Easter crowds, and preparations are well underway to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for visitors.

The confidence in the industry is growing, and the latest travel data reflects a strong belief that Queensland remains a top-tier travel destination.

An Easter Calendar Packed with Excitement

Another major draw for travellers this Easter is Queensland’s dynamic events calendar. Signature events like the Tour de Brisbane, the Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final, and the Gold Coast Film Festival are just a few of the highlights that are encouraging people to pack their bags and head north.

These events not only showcase Queensland’s unique lifestyle and culture but also give families, couples, and solo travellers a range of experiences to enjoy beyond the beaches and hinterlands.

Queensland Is Ready to Welcome You

With 71 per cent of Australians planning a holiday this Easter, Queensland stands out as the ultimate destination. Whether it’s coastal charm, adventure in the outback, or vibrant city escapes, the Sunshine State is ready to offer unforgettable moments filled with warmth, hospitality, and iconic experiences.
