DIFF 2025: Lighting Up Da Nang’s New Rising Era

A Season of Firsts and Fireworks

This summer, Da Nang is preparing to dazzle the world as it hosts the most expansive and innovative edition of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) yet. From May 31 to July 12, DIFF 2025 will transform the city into a canvas of light, sound, and creativity with the theme “Da Nang – The New Rising Era.” Promising to be the largest and longest-running festival in its history, DIFF 2025 is gearing up for a season of spectacle, surprises, and unforgettable moments.

New Faces, Fierce Competition

In a first for the festival, two teams from the host country Vietnam will compete in this year’s line-up—Da Nang’s own team and the newly introduced Z121 Vina Pyrotech, representing the Ministry of Defence. They will be joined by eight other international teams from Finland, the UK, Portugal, Poland, South Korea, Italy, Canada, and China, each bringing unique pyrotechnic flair to the competition.

The fireworks showdown will unfold over six Saturday evenings, starting with an opening match on May 31 between Vietnam 1 and Finland under the theme “Cultural Essence.” Subsequent nights will spotlight themes like “Creative Arts,” “Connecting Journeys,” and “Sustainable Development,” culminating in a grand finale on July 12 titled “Embracing the New Era.”

Beyond the Sky: A Multi-Sensory Spectacle

What sets DIFF 2025 apart is its bold integration of technology, entertainment, and interactivity. Each fireworks night is designed as a full-scale live concert, featuring leading domestic and international artists, dynamic music performances, and immersive stage effects. Visitors can expect not just a fireworks display, but a complete festival atmosphere pulsing with rhythm, light, and creative energy.

Adding to this is the debut of the Sun Paradise Land (SPL) mobile app. Visitors can personalise their itineraries, purchase tickets, vote for their favorite fireworks team, and even engage in AR experiences that extend the fireworks show into a realm of digital imagination.

Tourism Booms with Every Burst

DIFF is more than an entertainment event—it’s a major catalyst for Da Nang’s tourism and economy. In 2024, the festival drew over 1.5 million visitors, boosting tourism revenue by more than 28 percent. The momentum is expected to grow in 2025, with tour operators expanding offerings and the city investing in new cultural attractions such as the Da Nang Museum and Hai Van Gate.

The 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang and the South will also be commemorated during the festival period, enriching the experience with heritage events and city-wide celebrations.

After more than a decade, DIFF has become synonymous with Da Nang’s global identity. Often dubbed the “City of Fireworks,” Da Nang uses the festival as a platform to position itself as a leading destination in Southeast Asia. With DIFF 2025, the city aims to exceed expectations once again, offering locals and international travelers a front-row seat to a rising era of tourism, culture, and innovation.
