Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025: A Celebration of Culture and Coffee

Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025
Coffee lovers and cultural enthusiasts from around the world will gather in Vietnam’s Central Highlands for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, taking place from March 9 to March 13, 2025. Held in Buon Ma Thuot City and several locations across Dak Lak Province, this biennial festival is set to deliver a vibrant showcase of Vietnam’s coffee heritage under the theme "Buon Ma Thuot – The Destination of World Coffee."

Marking the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory and the liberation of Dak Lak Province, the festival will honor the region’s coffee culture, pay tribute to the hard work of coffee growers, and promote investment in coffee production and processing. It will also serve as a platform to introduce the unique traditions of the Central Highlands’ ethnic minorities, including the Gong Culture Space, a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage.

Fifteen official activities will make up the festival’s dynamic program, with the grand Opening Ceremony scheduled for 8:00 PM on March 10 at 10/3 Square in Buon Ma Thuot City, followed by the Closing Ceremony on March 13 at the same venue. This year, the festival embraces an international outlook, incorporating modern elements while maintaining its deep cultural roots.

New features for the 2025 edition include a digital content creation competition aimed at promoting the festival across online platforms, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trung Nguyen Legend Energy Coffee Factory, and an interactive coffee camp titled "Companionship and Sharing" at the historic CADA Plantation in Krong Pak District. These additions highlight the festival’s commitment to both tradition and innovation in showcasing Vietnam’s coffee industry on the global stage.

Nguyen Tuan Ha, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the festival’s role in boosting tourism, economic growth, and global recognition of Buon Ma Thuot coffee. Dak Lak Province, home to Vietnam’s largest coffee-growing area of approximately 210,000 hectares, contributes over 520,000 tons of coffee annually—more than 30% of the country’s total output. With exports reaching hundreds of countries, Buon Ma Thuot continues to solidify its reputation as the heart of Vietnam’s coffee industry.

This year, the festival’s promotional efforts will be amplified with the involvement of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie and Miss Tourism Vietnam 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa as media ambassadors. Content creators and social media influencers will also play a key role in showcasing the festival’s highlights to a global audience, ensuring that Buon Ma Thuot’s coffee legacy reaches far beyond Vietnam’s borders.

For coffee aficionados and travelers alike, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 promises a unique experience filled with cultural immersion, industry insights, and of course, the finest coffee Vietnam has to offer.
