The festival will feature some of the biggest names in Australian and international music, including Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, The Jungle Giants, The Dreggs, Cyril, 3%, and more.
Set against the palm-lined shores and endless blue skies of Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach, BASSINTHEGRASS 2025 will feature 18 diverse acts across hip-hop, dance, electronic, house, pop, indie, folk, alternative, and R&B.
Hip-hop royalty Hilltop Hoods, fresh off their new single The Gift (featuring Darwin’s own Marlon), will be joining the likes of international acts Jax Jones and house duo Jaded, both from the United Kingdom, as well as Nigeria’s Kah-Lo.
Hilltop Hoods’ Debris said: “We haven’t been to Darwin for three years and our whole team are excited and looking forward to performing at BASSINTHEGRASS with such a great line-up. The festival is one of our favourite places to play.”
BASSINTHEGRASS 2025 will showcase an impressive line-up of Australian music talent, featuring multiple ARIA, AIR, and J Awards winners such as Meg Mac, The Jungle Giants, and 3%. Joining them are homegrown favourites, including The Dreggs, The Amity Affliction, Old Mervs, The Rions, Baby J, Hope D, Latifa Tee, Jazmine Nikitta, and Hot Dub Time Machine.
The Territory’s own DJ/producer Cyril will take the stage after a standout year in 2024, which saw his single Stumblin’ In become the most-played song on Australian radio.
“Being a Darwin local, it’s a dream come true to come back home and play at BASSINTHEGRASS!” he said. “It’s such an incredible festival that brings some of the world’s best talent to the Northern Territory and I can't wait".
Fans of electronic dance music can look forward to the return of the hugely popular 360-degree BASSment stage, which will host a stellar line-up of electronic artists, including Australian music producer Luude.
Northern Territory Major Events Company Interim CEO, Trevor Cox, said “The all-ages music festival continues to evolve, offering fresh experiences for both new visitors and longtime fans.
“Over 22 years, the Territory’s favourite music festival has grown into a must-attend event on the national festival calendar. It’s also one of the most affordable festivals in Australia.
“BASSINTHEGRASS is bringing international artists together with Australia’s best, giving music fans the chance to experience world-class performances in a stunning beachside setting while continuing to support Australian artists on a big stage,” Mr Cox said.
New to festival this year will be BASS Camp, a retreat designed for the whole family to enjoy, complete with kids’ activities for $250 an adult and $50 per child. BASS Camp offers an exclusive space where younger kids can enjoy their own silent disco, face painting, a glitter station, and more.
Fans can also elevate their experience with premium packages designed to make the most of the tropical festival vibe. These include ‘ReFresh’, which provides a retreat from the festival crowds and a place to take a breather and avoid the queues ($250, 18+); and ‘Oasis’ which offers express entry, drink and food vouchers, shaded side-of-stage views, and a dedicated bar for the ultimate luxury festival experience ($350, 18+).
BASSINTHEGRASS is also the perfect opportunity to experience the best of the Top End during its famous dry season. With stunning temperate weather, crystal-clear swimming holes, breathtaking landscapes, immersive Aboriginal cultural experiences, and incredible national parks like Litchfield, Nitmiluk and the dual UNESCO-listed Kakadu, it’s a destination like no other.
Providing even more reasons to visit Top End in May, BASSINTHEGRASS 2025 caps off a huge week of major events in Darwin. The festival follows back-to-back AFL clashes, with the Gold Coast SUNS facing the Western Bulldogs on Saturday, 10 May, and Hawthorn on Thursday, 15 May. The much-loved BASSINTHECITY pop-up festival will also return to Darwin’s CBD, offering a vibrant mix of live music, cultural acts, food vans, and local vendors.
BASSINTHEGRASS continues to cement its reputation as one of Australia’s most unique and successful music festivals. Delivered by Northern Territory Major Events Company, BASSINTHEGRASS is an all-ages music festival that attracts thousands of festivalgoers from across the Northern Territory and beyond each year.
