Charitable Travel and Wildlife SOS

Charitable Travel has launched a 13-night Indian trip that brings together a tour of the Golden Triangle with volunteering for the charity Wildlife SOS at their Elephant Conservation Care Centre and Sloth Bear Rescue facilities in Agra and Mathura.

Wildlife SOS is strongly committed to the ethical treatment of animals, with only trained Wildlife SOS staff able to interact directly with them.

As such, direct contact with the animals in the facilities is not a part of the programme. Volunteers will however the animals from close proximity when helping the carers go about their duties and will accompany the elephants on their evening walk.

Charitable Travel, founded in April 2020, operates the same as other high-end travel agencies, but the social enterprise donates 5% per cent of the cost of the holiday to a charity of the customer’s choice, via a partnership with JustGiving.

Wildlife SOS is a non-profit charity established in 1998 with the primary objective of rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife in distress across India.

It runs wildlife and nature protection projects to promote conservation, and combat poaching & illegal wildlife trade.
