ENTRIES FOR 2024 TOYOTA STAR MAKER COMPETITION CLOSE THIS FRIDAY

Emerging country artists ready to take the next step in their careers are being urged to apply for the 2024 Toyota Star Maker competition, with entries set to close this Friday, September 1.

As Australia’s largest and longest-running talent search, the iconic Star Maker competition has been the launchpad for recent winners like Loren Ryan, Kaylee Bell, Max Jackson and Blake O’Connor, as well as some of Australia’s most successful country music artists such as Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Travis Collins, Beccy Cole, Samantha McClymont and Lyn Bowtell.

Toyota Star Maker Manager, Cheryl Brown, says that for artists who’ve already begun their career in the country music industry, the Toyota Star Maker competition provides a stage for those who are ready to take the next step.

“It will involve hard work and dedication, but for artists who are passionate, determined and career focused, there are endless opportunities if crowned the winner.

“They’ll not only become an ambassador for Australian country music, but also be lucky recipient of a $100,000 prize pack.”

As part of the prize pack, the 2024 Toyota Star Maker winner will have 12-months use of a brand new, fully-serviced Toyota motor vehicle and fuel card, thanks to Toyota Australia.

Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vin Naidoo said Toyota has been proud to continuously support Toyota Star Maker for the 28th year at Tamworth.

“For many young, up-and-coming country stars, the Toyota Star Maker competition is an exciting opportunity to break into the industry in a big way. Watching the success of winner Loren Ryan since winning the 2023 competition demonstrates how integral the competition is to the future of Australian Country Music.” Mr Naidoo said.

“If you’re a burgeoning country music artist, we encourage you to enter the Toyota Star Maker competition this year and we’re looking forward to listening to all the talented musicians and entries from across Australia.”

2023 Toyota Star Maker winner, Loren Ryan, has been busy performing at festivals and events throughout August, and has recently announced the launch of her EP, set to take place during the 2024 Toyota Country Music Festival.

“The fact that I am going to be launching my own EP is absolutely a dream come true,” says Ms Ryan.

Being on the Star Maker journey these last seven months has already brought me more opportunities than I could’ve ever hoped for, and I’m excited for what is in store for the rest of the year.”

I can’t wait to see who is announced in the 2024 top ten finalist list, because I just know what a special journey they are about to embark on.”

Anyone wishing to enter the 2024 Toyota Star Maker competition must submit two original tracks, as well as a biography and list of career achievements, plus any other information that could assist them in becoming a finalist.

The top ten finalists who will be announced in October, will be invited to perform at the Toyota Star Maker Grand Final in Toyota Park on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the 52nd Toyota Country Music Festival, where the winner will be crowned.

“Toyota Star Maker is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” says Ms Brown.
