With spring just around the corner, Aussies are ready for more fun in the sun, as Booking.com search data reveals the holiday destinations Aussies are longing for this season.

Sydney retains its status as the top destination for travellers domestically and internationally, followed by other East Coast cities including the Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Queensland is at the top of the lists for those seeking a quick sunshine fix, with Port Douglas, Noosa Heads, and Airlie Beach appearing in the top domestic destinations; alongside Hamilton Island, jumping 41 spots from this time last year!

It’s clear Aussies are also craving a tropical break as we emerge from one of our warmer winters, with idyllic Indonesian destinations Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Ubud, and Nusa Dua all appearing in the top ten International destination list.

The search data supports Booking.com’s recent Travel Confidence Index, revealing over half (57%) of Aussies are looking for captivating scenery and nature, whilst 53% are prioritizing food and dining experiences, or the sunny, beach and island style holiday.

Booking.com Regional Manager of Oceania, Todd Lacey is available for interviews and can speak further to the search data, and the Travel Confidence Index.
